Hi, my name is Greg. I've been reading CF for a month or more now, decided to introduce myself and what not.
I'm 29, married, and a father of 3(2 boys and a baby girl). I was raised in Church (Baptist) and Christian school as I was being raised by my Grandmother. As I grew older and moved back with my parents (11) things changed and we no longer went to church regularly, nor spoke of God, and I had some bad experiences both in Church and out with my parents. I moved out at a very young age and lived a very rough/bad life, but I knew God was with me protecting me no matter how much I tried to ignore him.
My wife and I decided(10 years into our marriage) it was time to get closer to God and grow our relationship with Jesus. We spoke of God and prayed a lot, with some bible study here and there in our home. We knew something was missing....
We started going to an amazing church that we have driven by every day for years (felt like it was calling to us) and we’ve felt right at home from day one. Returning to Church has ignited the fire I’ve have tried my whole life to ignore or extinguish. It feels so good to accept God’s plan for my life, my peace is returning and the stress of life is lessening. We lead a small group in the Married Life ministry at our church, I’m applying at SEU for their practical ministry degree, and I couldn’t be happier!
