There is no parliament in the United States or Canada for that matter (the latter of which they are from).
So I ask you, why support such a band? Because the music is catchy? Why not listen to Little Jon if all you listen to is the music?

Creating music is an art of it's own kind and thank goodness in art there's never such thing is just one kind of hip style, but everything on it's own is a piece of art, whether liked by many, considered a classic, or only understood by a few ...it still holds it's own as being art, becuz in art there is no tunnel vision.
If I recall correctly, aside from the Ramones, most old school PUnk bands were very socially concious or politcally aware. Most punk bands tend to deal with social issues and not just "having fun and daTing girls".Hawk Nelson is part of the new fluff-punk but even that very-disorted, happy-side-effect version of punk understand that punk music isn't usually serious-matters kind of music ...it's just fun and crazy kind of music, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Hey, I don't even like Hawk Nelson's music.. so if I'm defending them, that must mean your comment towards them is pretty darn lame. Take it easy kid,
