Hamas’ sneak attack into Israel across a heavily fortified border has focused new attention on America’s own borders, where Republicans say the next 9/11-style attackers may be planning to enter — or already have.

Lawmakers demanded President Biden acknowledge the risks to the U.S. and respond with more border walls, troop deployments and an end to the catch-and-release free-for-all that has allowed millions of unauthorized migrants to disperse to communities across the country.

“We have to take the example of what just happened here and say to our own intelligence, what do we have along our border? What cells have we allowed to come in here?” Rep. Kevin McCarthy, former speaker of the House, told radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday.

Biden silent on nine Americans killed in Israeli attacks

President Biden on Monday did not address the deaths of at least nine American citizens among the 900 Israelis slaughtered when Hamas militants attacked Israel on Saturday.

Mr. Biden hasn’t made any public appearances since Saturday when he delivered a roughly three-minute speech on the situation without taking questions. He had no public events on Sunday or Monday but did host a private barbecue at the White House on Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, authorities confirmed that at least nine Americans were among the growing number of dead in Israel.

President Biden said Monday afternoon that the number of U.S. citizens in the fighting killed had risen to 11. He also hinted that the number could climb.
“It’s heart-wrenching. These families have been torn apart by inexcusable hatred and violence,” Biden said in a statement released by the White House. “We also know that American citizens still remain unaccounted for.”

Israel has extremely strict gun control laws. Texas doesn't. It would play out differently here. I'd suggest the invaders invade California.

True. People are always saying Biden is completely inept because of his diminished mental capacity, but that's not entirely true. Unlike Trump, Biden is very adept at enabling war and chaos.

Why do people from outside of California think that no one has guns here? About 1 in 4 Californians lives in a gun-owning home, and there are approximately 20 million firearms registered in California. (Source: UC Davis brief on the 2018 California Safety and Wellbeing Survey)

Our rate of gun ownership is lower than the average (the 2023 stats I could find show it at 28.3%, which is near the bottom of the list between Illinois and Maryland, compared to an estimated 40% nationwide average in 2020), but this is at least somewhat skewed by places like Montana where nearly 70% of adults own guns. If you check the second link with the most recent stats, you'll see you have to go down quite a ways before you get below 50%, but the places that are 50%+ have a lot more to discourage 'invaders' from coming there than just their rates of gun ownership. I doubt being awash in guns is among the primary things that keep people from 'invading' places like Alabama or Alaska.

...noting the US Congress, thanks to the Republican Conference, is no position to authorize additional aid to Israel.

However, Isreal already receives over 3 Billion dollars in miltary aid every year (thanks Obama!):
