YEP! I love Halloween!

I volunteer at a Halloween carnival for a children's hospital the Saturday before Halloween, and then on the actual day we have even more celebrations. We wear costumes to school and the teachers have bowls of candy for us. I take my little sisters trick-or-treating (to have a legitimate excuse for it at my age, haha) in the evening, and then I go with friends to this fantastic Halloween carnival. It's the largest one in the world. They shut down a major street in LA and have all these stages where bands are playing, food trucks, and a galore of amazing costumes. I'm so happy Halloween is on a Friday this year so there's no worry about staying out late on a school night.

I haven't decided yet what I'll go as this year. I need to make up my mind. I went as Rapunzel last year and as a peacock in 2012.

Do you celebrate Halloween, Gracie?

I celebrate Halloween by "reverse trick-or-treating."

Instead of asking adults for candy, I bake a bunch of goodies to take to people, especially older people... so that I know I'm giving more than I get on the holiday and it is so fun to show up and surprise people with home-made cookies.

I don't really dress up anymore. It's not something I particularly enjoy.

I always have to buy myself a bag of Halloween candy.

I don't go trick or treating but I'm entitled to some candy, yes?

Candy should be required for anyone that can eat it!

Well, not required, I'm not gonna make anyone eat candy - when they could give it to me...

lol but seriously, candy is important, and in a way I like buying it better because I don't get weird kinds that I don't like. I can buy all Butterfinger and not have to worry about what to do with the rest

Sour Patch Kids are my favorite candy, and anytime someone has them at Halloween it just notches up the happiness another beat. I like Butterfingers, too, but I prefer them as a yogurt / ice cream topping more than an actual bar.

I'm so pumped that Halloween is only a few weeks away now!!!!! This morning my parents went to Trader Joe's and bought a billion pumpkin groceries, plus actual pumpkins. Pumpkin yogurt, pumpkin pancake mix, pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin butter, pumpkin croissants, pumpkin beer they're letting me have, pumpkin oatmeal, pumpkin soup, PUMPKIN PIE MOCHI ICE CREAM. My taste buds thought they won the lottery.

What percentage is the alcoholic (if any) content in pumpkin beer? I was surprised to learn that Ciders are considered alcoholic, I always though they were like sugary juice. I've never even heard of pumpkin beer.

No, I don't celebrate halloween at all. Why? Well, people go dress up like demons(wich I have seen in reality while a kind of maybe possesed man was visiting our home and ever since) trying to scare people. Seriously? You can't see halloween is celebrating death? I don't want to meet a demon outside of my home when thinking it is a human in demon clothing. And it is not very popular here. Instead we have an alternative called "Hello friend" It is not a childish thing, but actually a lot of fun. We are not allowed to wear witch costumes, half animal-human or any other scary costume. We make stuff and play games. Hope the best for you guys, God bless.

Oh, sorry I hadn't noticed this post to answer your question sooner. I don't know the percentage of alcohol in it, but I think it's fairly low. It's actually called ale instead of beer (I don't know if there's a difference between the two?) and it tastes bizarrely unpleasant. It was the one miss out of the Trader Joe's pumpkin line. BUT it smelled delightful. I know that seems odd, but it really did have this fantastic aroma. My nose was happy even though my taste buds weren't.

Trader Joe's

I'm using the empty bottles now as vases for Halloween decor in my room, haha.
