Wish I could read tabs...but I can only read chords...though I can't play them all. Heh, I'm learning though!
Tabs are quite easy to read once you know how. When I first read one, it was complete gibberish, but I just did a quick Google search for "Reading guitar tablatures" or something like that and soon found a site that explained it all.

In regards to chords, I can't play them either. Or at least not well. I used to be very good with chords, but I slowly stopped playing them and now I'm very poor with them. Thing is, I don't have any desire to play them and don't like them anyway. Some of the best guitarists - most notably BB King* - couldn't play chords. I prefer to stick to riffs and solos that only require one or two strings depressed at a time.

*The story with BB King goes as follows: on U2's "Rattle And Hum: The Movie", they feature a scene before a show when U2 and BB King and his band are preparing to play When Love Comes To Town (it appears to me to be for the first time), and there's a section of dialogue that goes roughly something like;
BB King: "I can't play chords. I'm hopeless with chords."
Bono: "That's alright, Edge can play the chords."
Then it goes on to show footage of practice where Edge is playing chords and BB King does his thing with the solo.

(On a random note, my favourite guitarist, The Edge, routinely does not play chords - my two favourite U2 songs, 11 O'clock Tick Tock and Bad, do not feature them whatsoever)
