Oh, boy, where do I start? I think I should ask how much you want to know because I can give you all kinds of information.

I can answer your first question quite easily. Clark was not booted for heresy. He was completely exonerated and the Complaintants (Van Til included) were admonished for their impositions. Clark is so non-heretical that it makes me puke that whatever you have read thus far would even imply that. Clark is among the most orthodox and stuanch defenders of the faith in a very long time. Even his detractors would admit this.People just don't like him because he was a contrarian and given to polemics. For some reason, people don't like it when you point out they are wrong.

Anyway, if anyone's theology is in question here, it's Van Til. Don't get me started on his unorthodox revisions of Trinitarian theology. Moreover, Van Til flatly denied that man can know anything that God knows. In the opinion of this author, he had a patently absurd philosophy and has received extraordinarily undue respect.

Yikes. I suppose that's to be expected from someone with a Clark avatar (and I mean no offense at all). Honestly, I know very little about the two men, and would like to learn more about both of them, their teachings, and the conflict between them. I know some good people who think Van Til is the bee's knees.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Clark-Van Til debates from Gordon-Conwell Theological Semianry on audio tape? Trinity Foundation had them available years ago, but I just checked their site and could not find them.

I would love to get a copy whilst I can afford them. Thanks.

Dr. Bob Morey was as student of Clark and great admirer of his, he talks about Clark as if no other teacher of logic can hold a match to him, but in the same breath he also says Clark was a nasty and mean man when it came down to personal relationships and interaction with people. Maybe this had more to do with it then his teachings.

I've heard this, too. Apparently, Clark was much like Darby in that he had little patience for people that didn't "get it." It's unfortunate, but we all have our faults.
