  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Only one is good, God.

Christians are to transition from the selfishness of the flesh to the selfless love of Christ by allowing the Holy Spirit to work in us.

Buddhists attempt to conquer desires (flesh) but ultimately can only suppress them. Christians have the opportunity to exchange selfish desires for ones that seek the good of others.

Man is sinful and incapable of doing good on their own. If one walks in the spirit though the "goodness" of God should shine forth, with all the glory going to him for what we accomplish through him. Sadly, some can't tell the difference between their own good works and the good that God brings to us in our heart that is only achieved by faith. To much "good" is still the same as in the days of Jesus. Pharisee fasted, wore scripture books around their necks, all kinds of religious things yet none of that really mattered. So this "good" you seek is only achieved through Jesus as we yield to him.
Should we consider ourselves as bad?
I Cor 10:13
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

IF you want to be free in Jesus, you have to see yourself through the eyes of God. That the capacity from the born again spirit is so much that while one can still stumble, this state of holiness that is only achieved by faith can persist and grow into a Jesus like person. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
