Once I realized that Jews required a sign in order to believe, (Exodus 4, 1 Corinthians 1:22, John 20:30-31), I begin to have a new perspective of the faith of God during this dispensation of grace.

I have never seen Jesus Christ in person, I have never seen him on a cross, and of course, I have never seen him resurrected, nor have I seen his physical self or heard any audible words from him.

And yet, because I choose to have faith in a book that was written around that time period, I choose to believe in the gospel of the grace of God found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, I am a Christian

Whenever I read people using Hebrews 11 and praise all those giants of faith for their faith, I like to think that, when I meet my Lord face to face, he will say to me "By faith, you believe that I came to Earth, died for your sins, and rose again on the 3rd day, without even seeing any of those events with your eyes."

I think that kind of faith is as awesome as any of those listed in Hebrews 11. Those listed in Hebrews had the benefit of God appearing to them or saying to them something in a very audible voice, while I did not. =)

Implication

Whenever you see or experience how difficult it is to preach this gospel to your non-believing friends and relatives, don’t be dishearten. Recognize that the faith required to get someone to believe, like you did, is not a trivial one.
