  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I did provide the evidence. The Bible.

This sort of seems like trying to explain to my mother how computers
work. Or explaining Harry Potter to someone that knows nothing about
it. It's best to read the book or watch the movies first.

There are genealogies tracing Noah from Adam. There are genealogies
tracing Jesus to Adam. There are many references by other writers as
to taking Genesis, Adam and the flood as literal history.

The entire bible story is about Adam, sin, the flood representing
salvation and leading up to Jesus. So I don't believe for a minute that
the Christians you are talking about are the Christians I am talking about.

The Bible doesn't say what you claim is says. If it does, I have failed to find it. Perhaps you could provide some quotes to support your claim.

Again, you claim that I haven't read the Bible despite my telling you that I have.

There are 2 genealogies tracing Jesus back to Abraham and Adam. They don't match each other. Why should I accept that these genealogies have any resemblance to the truth or have any value in determining the historical accuracy of Genesis?

You're not saying that the Christians that don't believe Genesis is true history are not Christians, are you?

You seem to be saying that if Adam and the Garden of Eden were not real history, then men don't sin and don't need a Savior. I don't see the logic in that contention because obviously men do sin.
