A great many Christians don't take Genesis literally, nor do they interpret Jesus' reference to Noah, or Adam to be any more a testament to their previous existence than a reference to Captain Ahab is a testament to his previous existence.

"Common Knowledge" does not always indicate truth and is rarely as common as the purveyors of such would like to believe.

Perhaps it would be better for your side of this debate if you provided the evidence rather than asking me to do the research to support your claims.

This sort of seems like trying to explain to my mother how computers
work. Or explaining Harry Potter to someone that knows nothing about
it. It's best to read the book or watch the movies first.

There are genealogies tracing Noah from Adam. There are genealogies
tracing Jesus to Adam. There are many references by other writers as
to taking Genesis, Adam and the flood as literal history.

The entire bible story is about Adam, sin, the flood representing
salvation and leading up to Jesus. So I don't believe for a minute that
the Christians you are talking about are the Christians I am talking about.
