From the time I was born I was raised Christian, but I never really accepted God. I started to question whether or not I believed in him, and for awhile I didn't. I've been dealing with depression for about three years, and I think that's what turned me away from him, as well as talking to some people who kind of convinced me that religion wasn't a good thing, and that believing was silly.

But I've come back to God, and since then I've felt so extremely positive. I feel fortunate to be alive instead of the other way around, and I think God is the one to thank.

Welcome back from confusion! Yeah, rely on the God Who reliably set up this universe.

Nobody avoids all trust. Trust is part of reality, and it often confirms its existence among people who really do care about one another. It's real.

There're lots of things we can't see that're real. I took a lot of philosophy, they talk about these things obsessively.

Unfortunately, many who were raised in a Christian home or went to a Christian school believe that's enough to make them a Christian. It doesn't. But you realized that you personally needed to make a decision for Christ. That's what the Gospel is about. Regardless of what kind of family or "religion" you were raised in, every single person is commanded to repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. God bless you and READ YOUR BIBLE AND PRAY!

There is such a thing as too much church, just as there is too little church. If we emphasize only the church then surely we teach the commandments and traditions of men. If we emphasize only the personal relationship with Jesus then we deny ourselves fellowship. IMHO, Baptist or non-denominational is good, 100% Orthodox is bad.

What you started with is ok but the last sentence is not. Who are you to say what worship group is good or bad. That is a decision of each follower of Christ and what God leads them to. Not all groups have all the truth but they do have some truth. Seek God and you will be able after being filled with the Holy Spirit to discern what you need and where to worship. Yes do not follow a church completely or man but follow God.

True. It could have done without the personal statement. I am indeed no one to judge or condemn anyone, I just happen to feel that certain traditions go against certain verses in the Bible.

IMHO Following God > Believing in God > Trying to define God > Man made Traditions

The body of Christ is one, the religions are just how we express ourselves.
