I have lots of crafts that I enjoy from clay, gardening, indoor plants, cross stitch, plastic canvas, making yarn bracelets, jewelry and a bunch of others.

at Christmas time I LOVE to bake cookies!!! in some circles I am already known as 'the cookie lady' once December rolls around. my family (if we are talking at the holidays) already know not to ask for gifts and what they are going to get as I stopped buying gifts in leu of using all gift money and putting it into ingredients for cookies and then everyone gets a tin (or two) of homemade goodness straight from the heart. since my mom was diagnosed with Diabeties a few years ago I have even started making some batches with splenda and since I take trays of cookies to my counselor/dr office as well as the social services office I always make sure to include some diabetic ones and let them know which these are for those that want to indulge in a few extra cookies without the added sugar or are diabetic and need to watch the sugar. I have been known to bake for other holidays as well but Christmas is my number one 'must bake' event. I have over 600 cookie cutters now of all seasons with about half of those being Christmas - with no duplicates!

I actually have 3 wooden drawers that came out of an old mansion when they converted the built in closet to a pantry - they are very large and sturdy. I tacked in a shelf in each of them half way from front to back, removed the handles and sit them upright as shelves, filled mostly with tins that have a lot of craft supplies in them. I am actually quite the 'crafty' person. I am sort of a collector of a few things, from tins (to store my crafts stuff in and just for fun), stuffed animals, baseball/sports cards, movies (mostly VHS still since I have not worked in a video store since the change over to DVD) and books (especially crafting books with different patterns to use in cross stitch).

I like to work with beads as well and actually came up with my own native american bead loom as well but havent worked on it in a while but eventually I Know I will get back to it.

here are my 'kids'

CoCo is the Calico (fore ground) and LeeLee is the Taurtus Shell (behind CoCo).....



they are 3 years old now and from the same litter.

they love to play and wrestle each other until they fall asleep....



Teddy is my beloved Pup though he is going to be 14 years old at the end of the month.......

As far as hobbies go, you're looking at it hehe I like to play on the cpu in my spare time. Considering I'm still in college, I don't have a lot of time outside of school work to really put a lot of effort into something other than playing on the net. Btw, I'm in school to become a social worker (go figure, I'd want to help out lol) and I'll graduate May of 09! I can't wait! I've been in school since I was 4 lol, so I'm extremely ready for the end.

Pets: I currently have one puppy, named Hermione (yes I like HP). And my hubby is a fish keeper so we have tons of those and a aquatic turtle named Herbert.

I currently work at a daycare and tutor a few teens in math in the afternoons. Some days it's stressful, others I love it lol. Guess it all depends.

My favorite show is probably any of the Law and Order/CSI type shows, I love them. Plus I was told it's good for me to watch them (considerin the profession I've chosen) because I'll have to hear/see a lot of awful situations and it's best to be prepared.

My favorite Bible passage of all time is probably either Acts 1:8 or John 14:14. John 14:14 basically says anything we (as christians) ask, will be done. It's such an awesome promise!

my current cros stitch project is the Van Gogh painting 'Irisis'



and here is the bead loom I made....



the hardest thing for me to learn and to continue to do was to thread the loom when beginning a new project...so I devised a way to keep the individual threads seperated until I had them all 'threaded' and tied down....by adding individual spools for each thread and pulling them threw in a particular way based upon the code I taped down to the base....

here is how I made use of the drawers I made into shelves for my living room ..... so I can keep my craft supplies handy and keep the room looking well sort of not cluttered, I know I am kind of behind the times in fashion but my place is what I call 'very Homey'







you can barely see this one with all my plants growing on it it is kind of tucked away.

wow just finished reading the entire post here. sounds like you have a lot of care to pass around. if I would still be in college I would be working towards Occupational Therapy. I once thought about being a counselor or social worker but was inspired by a OT therapist when I was in my teens and see that there is a real need for this profession that may be being overlooked. my aspirations were to open an OT rehap center, and maybe I still wll but currently my college loans are in default so have to figure that out.

yes I agree CSI and Law and Order will definately get you prepared. a couple others that I also like are Criminal Minda and I used to watch ER a lot and still catch some of the new episodes - these also offer a lot of insight in the field.

sounds like you are well on your way to making a mark in the world and I Pray that you bless many people with your care and concern and giving personality. you hare a lot to offer and I do appreciate your contributions here at CFPets at this time!!

Hi all!


great idea starting this zfawnz and I really enjoyed reading all the posts so far....

here's a bit about me:

my name's Ainuhina (which means God's daughter in Quneya - a language in the Lord of the Rings...my favourite book) or Maggie (short for Magdalena - my real name )

I'm studying English (in my 6th semester now) and just started Softwaredevelopment and Ecconomics this semester...to get my degree it will be at least another 3 years but at least it's fun studying....

beside being a student I'm on the youth leadership team in church as well (that's the 17+ in our church)...just started there in March and I really love it....I'm on the girl's evening team as well (we're having an evening for just the girls every 2 months)

I used to work in the local christian book store until March 2007 (total of 1 1/2 years there) and then was in the UK (Birmingham) working in one of their stores there till December...I really loved it there and wished I could stay but God told me he's got something to do for me here in Austria so I came back....and things started to move here I'm really excited about that and the fact that he wants me to play a role in it....

a few of my hobbies are:
my computer (called Franz Ferdinand or short Franzl - like the Austrian emperor)...it's on more or less all the time and most of the time I'm online as well....I love programming websites, doing graphics and chatting online...
reading (I LOVE books...have tons of them at home...nearlly all of my room's filled up with books)
dancing (used to do ballett - total of 11 1/2 years plus thaught it for a year....also did modern dance, tap, jazz and a bit of Hip Hop)

I don't have any pets though I always wanted a cat...but my mum's allergic to cat hair so I can't have one....had an adopted one in summer 2006 but we had to give her away cause of my mum's allergy....we found her in our garden - she was still a kitten - so we fed her and took care of her till we found a family that wanted her....

my favourite tv-shows at the moment are all the CSI ones (NY, Las Vegas, Navy CIS...don't like the Miami ones to much though), Crossing Jordan, Dr. House (he's really funny)....thinks that's all....

my favourite Bible passages....got quite a lot of them....one of my fav. is Acts 19 (the first few verses)...because it was that story that convinced me of getting baptised in november....and I love 1. Timothy because it's written to a young guy who had a hard job keeping up his work in church....sort of the same situation I'm in at the moment....keeping up the work I was given to do and not doing what others would expect me to....

thanks for sharing Maggie, sounds like you are a very busy servant of the Lord for sure!!

I forgot to mention my favorite passages. my favorite verse of all is John 3:16 but my fav fav absolute favorite passage has to be Psalms 18. this passage reminds me not only of God's love for me but also that He stands in and guards me against those that have and may ever show harm or want to hurt me. He is not only my Comforter but my guardian and my Redeemer not only of my soul but against my foes.

Actually I'm, DH as well, a blessed music lover!!!

All other days, I'm a new C-SPAN junkie...as well as any Bible based teaching/preaching that I can get my hands (ears, eyes and mind around) on...Perry Stone and Joyce Meyer in particular!!!

oka im thersa me and cffosterangel 43 have the same birthday!!!!!!!!!! i am disabled i love computers im on face book and my space i am a member of bare foot lansing been a member there for about 1 year ilove it i have no real life pets but i love [ets i grew upwith a german shepard and sevraldiffrent birds from parakets to cockatails but unforinately when my sis was 3 she killed the last bird i have epliepsy and i have struggled with addictions i have been saved for over 18 years sorry tio sayit hasnt ben a stable rac i hav weebled and wabbled thrue my faith you can see pics on the main cf thread

wow 34 we have something else in common - did not know we had the same bday. cool. I am also on disability and I have become a home body. I did attend AA for several years because my mom said that since she was then I must be only I never truelly feel that I was an alcoholic. true I have a bad day now and then (about once or twice a year) but ordinarily I dont even like the stuff - the taste or the affect. my worst addiction to date I would have to say is the internet, but how many of us here may have that problem?? lol!!
