  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Regulations on contraception do not apply to animals. Part of the reason is because there are other reasons to neuter an animal other than just for population control; in food animals such as swine, it causes them to grow larger and fatter, thus making them produce more food for human consumption, and in household pets such as dogs and cats, it can curb aggressiveness and make them safer around children.

Now, *there's* an argument for contraception which will not be used for humans.

I occasionally find myself beating my head against the boundaries of what we see as "life", and how we decide how to interact with it. It's weird.

I was under the impression that neutering food animals also made the meat taste better, too. I've heard that pork brimming with testosterone is nasty.
Probably one of the reasons I detest the taste of mule deer.

Not having consumed any humans lately, I couldn't say.
