Definitely watching this. I read all the books in the series. There is a bunch of sex and swearing in the books too. But I gotta say, the tv series has a lot more sex scenes than the book. (The HBO effect?)

I think you just need to go in knowing what you are in for. It's definitely an adult show, but a quality show as well. I'm really looking forward to season two.

(I think Arya is the coolest character.)

I was actually suprised by the lack of nudity considering its HBO. At least the nudity they do show is done tastefully unlike certain others shows I watched (Spartacus).

I havne't read the books. My friend told me about the show a few weeks ago and I just finished watching the first season. I havne't seen a good "fantasy/medivial" type show/movie since Lord of the Rings.

My wife is reading the first book in the series now. I was hooked on the HBO series after the first ten minutes. It is really, really good and well done. Looking forward to the second season. I have the first four books in the series but haven't read them yet. I have read a little of George R. R. Martin's previous work which drew me to the series.

I watched a short documentary on the making of Game of Thrones and one thing all the actors who were interviewed on it said was how impressed they were with the production values such as the sets, the costumes and the quality of the work involved. Apparently the build the entire throne room as one set. I personally feel that each episode is like watching a mini good movie, its that good.

I've been a fan of the series since the first episode aired.
Now that season two is over i'll pick up the first book and give it a read.
I have to say that it is refreshing to see a fantasy series treated as a deep drama
instead of an action/adventure film aimed at children.

Loved the second season. Just when I think I understand whats going on, new things put me back at square one. Mind you I haven't read the book because I don't want to spoil myself. I'm pretty sure Gods gonna be chewing me out when I get to heaven. But I'm sure hes happy I at least stopped watching Spartacus, that show just got to perverted for me. Most episodes seemed like the had nothing but nudity and sex. >.>

The books are great, I really like the tv show also but for me the books are 100 times better, George r r martin (the author) has created an amazingly rice world that the television series barely touches on, if your gonna read any books this year is highly recommended these.

I've just started GoT, I just don't want to get ahead of the television series. Plus, it's a little annoying how long it takes G.R.R.M to write a book. Hopefully the series will push him to churn them out faster and we'll have the final 7th book when series 7 is due.

It has violence in it and so. Can you watch it by faith? Otherwise it's also Sin (Rom 14:23).

Matthew 6:22-23
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

The eyes are like the windows of the soul - either lets out light or lets in darkness.

Psalm 101:3
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Mjolnir is not the hammer of God.. It's Pagan.

And the Bible has violence, polygamy, adultery, incest, rape, homosexuality, prostitution... and that's just in Genesis.

Your point has become invalid. Please leave the thread as this is for people who actually enjoy the show. Not a debate thread.

There's a difference between sex in a story and what HBO does. Like I said I read the books and don't find them offensive at all. HBO just likes to fit boobs into every scene in increasingly stupid ways that add nothing to the story.

That's true, and that's because it's HBO. Realistically, Game of Thrones is very tame compared to a lot of their other shows I hear. Plus, Season 2 has been surprisingly so much more tame than Season 1 was in the sex department. Season 1 just started getting annoying with the constant graphic sex scenes. Season 2 seems to have meshed them well into the story in a way that actually works. They get their boobs in and it doesn't feel like it's just there simply to be there. It's still gritty and realistic without wasting time, which is good because the episodes always felt so short.
