2 Samuel 19:33 (NIV)
I will provide for you.
The grace of God is always fresh, like a river flowing through us. There is nothing stale about God's grace or goodness. The only thing that prevents God from showering us with a fresh dose of His grace is sin. Disobedience, unrepentant sin, self-reliance, unforgiveness and many such are the reason why a child of God is not flooded with God's goodness every morning. If there's something stale about our walk with Christ, then we ought to get alone with the Holy Spirit and find out why, because God's goodness is fresh every morning and limitless.
How does this compare to Hebrews 12:11, where the Christian suffer trials that are grievous. This is the same as 1 Peter 1:6, where manifold temptations are suffered and the Christian is in heaviness because of them. Also Hebrews 12:7-, talks about chastisement that all Christians must endure or else they are not sons. And 1 Peter 1:7, is about being tried with fire.
These trials are by fire and are very grievous to the Christian. Also there is a period where the Christian is very confused, and their faith even wanes. During these times of being tried with fire, the Christian does not always see a fresh dose of grace every morning because of the severe trials they have to endure. Not that God is not in control of the trials, and don't love us, but it's because He loves us that he gives us these trials to grow us. However, these trials can be so hard that they don't always lend themselves to a Christian experiencing "good feelings," and "joyful times in the lord." These trials can be rather difficult. Although they are for the purpose of growing the Christian, they are a period of walking in darkness, almost without God, and can feel like God has forsaken us.
So it's not always about the Christian having done something wrong as to why they don't see God's grace renewed every morning; but it is God Himself putting all Christians through trials, great trials of affliction, 2 Corinthians 8:2, through the furnace of affliction, Isaiah 48:10, "Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction."
It's God's wonderful Power that moves the Christian through the fire to the other side to "walk thou holy" before Him. He is doing the refining. He is a Loving Father who knows what He's doing, but as we go through the fire, we don't initially know what's going on, and we don't see the light at first. It's only when we "hold on to our faith" in Christ, that God deals with us a Children. It's a trial of our faith, 1 Peter 1:7, and 1 Peter 4:12.
