A friend of mine pointed this page out to me earlier this evening, and I've already registered. I am familiar with some of the professors from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary who give some of the classes here, and am impressed by what I know of them. It leans towards the Reformed perspective, it seems, and certainly seems to be a quality resource.

It appears to be sound, but I do wonder about how Reformed it is after reading the statement of faith. They seem to have the order of Salvation twisted around.

OTOH, I just lisitened to a sample lecture and liked it alot. Like so many other things out there, let the buyer beware. (But since it's free.....)

There are quite a few speakers from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am not too sure how Reformed that institution is, though.

Well they provide a link to John Piper "DesiringGod" Anyone who associates with JP is ok in my book

Also,Bill Mounce was lecturer in NT studies at Aberdeen University here in Scotland. Evangelical candidates for the Church Of Scotland Ministry were clambering to go there for there academic training for CoS ministry when he was there. As a potential candidate myself im already through the first stage of lectures on bibliology from BTI and im moving into Christology. The fact that this is a free resource usually raises suspicion but im assured these men are seeing this as a ministry and i hope the Lord blesses them greatly for providing these resources at no cost to the would be student

Just thought i would bump this thread up. BTI Has updated with more lecture material. Ive been working my way through this stuff as prep for possible future study. The most recent additions in the leadership study section includes over 4 hours of lectures by Dr John Piper on pastoral theology. This really is a very good resource with contributions and book recommendations from some excellent scholars. The addition of John Piper almost made me jump off my seat lol

Al Mohler is president of SBTS, I'm really sure he's reformed (I know my pastors reference him fairly regularly). He serves on the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals Council (along with Philip Ryken, R.C. Sproul, Alistair Begg, John Piper - and while still on this earth James Boice), which has a reformed statement. Just doing a very quick google makes me think I'm right.

Mohler is a 5-point Calvinist. From what I understand, the seminary is largely staffed with professors who hold to a Reformed Baptist theology (such as Dr. Tom Nettles). Because of this, I think I have heard that the seminary is not well liked by many non-Reformed Baptists in the Southern Baptist Convention. If they only knew that the founders of the SBC were Reformed... and that Southern Baptists, by and large, were Reformed up until the early 20th century...

In that vein, there is actually an organization which is attempting to work within the Southern Baptist Convention (and SBC churches) in a more historically Baptist way (which would be Reformed Baptist). Here is the link to the organization (God actually led me to my current church through this website): http://www.founders.org/
