Remember, this forum also includes Quakers, who do not practice water baptism, and many of them have a different view of the Bible. Quakers have many things in common with Baptists and Anabaptists. All are classified as Free Church Protestants - i.e. advocates of separation of church an d state on theological grounds. Anabaptists and Quakers are also historical peace churches.McDLT said:I like the idea of a name change. Baptist/Anabaptist was rather confusing for me when I first joined because I could see a huge difference between the 2. With a name change the difference between the 2 probably won't show as much.
It definately has to reflect all Baptists and all Anabaptists. So the main things would be adult baptism and high view of the Bible. I don't think Bible thumping (as someone suggested) acurately defines all the varients in the denominations.
Just some of my thoughts.
