  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey, I've been reading this forum, though I hadn't posted anything, but I just wanted to let everyone know I finished the first draft of a story I'm writing! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
70 double-spaced hand-written college-ruled pages in 4 days!
Please excuse all the exclamation points. Can you tell I'm a bit excited?

I could maybe write that much in four days, but I would be editing forever.

Good job TULIPgirl, we're happy for you.

Well, my siblings and my mom were all out of town, so it was just me and my dad at home. I had lots of uninterrupted writing time! The second time around I have a feeling is going to be a lot slower...It's a novel about Ireland and the Provisional IRA in 1972, and I'm very picky about getting the right "feel" and making things accurate.

Even so, it is well with my soul.

Yikes! I don't think I could write 70 pages in four days. My brain would go numb. Or my hands. Or both.

Congrats! I don't blame you for being excited. When I finished a first draft of a story last June (believe you me, it took way longer than four days--or even four months), I was soooooooo thrilled. Even though I knew it needed some serious editing and rewriting. I'm still working on the second draft... (I guess I'll never be a prolific writer, huh?)
