First cousin

I am writing in memory of my cousin. He passed away on July 4th of this year. He was very very sick. After much suffering, he passed away in his late 40s. Not long ago, he sat down with my mother and me for Christmas dinner. He was a deacon or was going to be a deacon at our local church. He initially came in for a gall bladder to be removed but his condition got worse from there. It was so sad. I visited him and he could barely speak. He lived a good life. I wish he were still around.
