FireFlies

Fireflies in my bedroom tonight
never has the world looked so bright
in the middle of the night

Never knew how good it could be
to have a god who loves me
and gives me more than I need

Turning the stars in a universal glass
teaching us your laws in this earthbound class
waiting on the streets for the parade of your glory to pass

Never knew there could be an artist so creative
who's works made life an energetic imperative
yet on the seventh day sedative

The smallest creature knows your fame
yet in the highest mountains stands your name
the hottest volcanoes cool the heat of your flame

Never knew his love could give so much
to have a god that only my heart can touch
to love him with all my heart, as love demands such

There is no place no point of anywhere
that I cannot find that you don't reside there
an all penetrating power suffocating even the air

Never knew his mighty hands held this weak old world
while like newborn children against his chest curled
as day by day we grow his plan is unfurled

Fireflies in the my bedroom tonight
