Finding members for a band, advice appreciated...

Yea, I have posted here before, and now I have specifics. I recently decided to start a rock band (of course, we want Christian members). I am having trouble finding members. Currently we have two, me (vocals, lyrics and plays violin - learning guitar) and my bro (keys). We need three others for the basic rock line-up we're after. Now our church is out of the question for various reasons, being that only one person just started playing and we can't allign views. So we tried signs up... currently we have them up at two of the four music stores, and we tried a gas station and a library that removed them in a week. So what should I try? Advice please... I was thinking calling teachers and asking...

Thanks guys... I need to get the numbers for some local teachers at our music store... a drum teacher also reccomended another place that would be a good place too look and ask...

Are you in college? A lot of schools have boards where students can post ads and events etc. So you could make a flyer introducing the band and mentioning you're Christian-oriented and would like to find members. Otherwise, try craigslist.com under the musician section. And if you have myspace, there is a classifieds section and you can try and find musicians that way. Good luck!

Thanks, I never thought of those options... thanks guys. Well, I met with a few guys Saturday night, and I think they might work. We are going to get together soon to practice, we seemed to click well, which is a good thing. The bassist has been at it for about 5-6 years, the drummer maybe two, and the guitarist a little over a year (He said he has had his guitar longer than that, just hasn't seriously played until the last year or two). Its funny how God works... my bro and I had made a push and put up signs, then re-edited them because they had a few errors, well I prayed to God... I said if you want me to start a band, then allow somebody to call within a week. I usually don't do time periods, but I was getting serious with God. Well a day before the week was over, I get a call from these guys, who wanted to get together! I'm not saying they will be the perfect fit, I'm not saying that this particular band will go anywhere, but its a start. Thanks guys...

Good, I like the guys... I don't know how good the drumer or guitarist is yet, but the bassist plays well from what I've heard. We've been having trouble getting in touch with each other, I'm unavailable when they call, and they're usually gone when I try. But we still need to practice yet, we just can't right now because the weather here is bad, cold, icy, and... bad. Just pray all works according to God's plan
