Mine is pronounce lee-a without the "h". Here in the States, most people call and write my name as lee-uh just like your name. Ehh, close enough, it's fine.

I do find attractive men in all races, but I am most attracted physically to my own race, yes. However, I don't think race is a big issue anyway, so I don't pay much attention to what colour skin one has....

I am a european-looking New Zealander, and my S/O is Chinese-Australian. I was attracted to him instantly, and find him more and more physically attractive as I get to know him on a personal level. Race has never ever been a consideration in my mind in terms of who I would date, or what I find attractive.

Typically, I'm more attracted to whites or asians. I've always put it down to the fact that's what I've always had around me. We don't have a big black population and... I don't know. I'm just not usually attracted to blacks.

I will date them though (and have). I might not be blown away physically when I first meet them, but people do become more/less attractive as you get to know them. My mate might be black and I don't want to lose him because I'm not used to it.

^^yeh i agree!i think its sad that some people have posted they are only attracted to girl of their own race I dont think its about a natural reaction I think its about the way people are brought up and socialised.Its interesting to note that it tends to be the guys who think this way.

Nine times out of ten interacial couples (black and white) the woman is white and the man is black. rarely do you see a white man with a black woman. I am white and would not date a black woman. If I have a child I will not allow them to date a black peron. I would not date a white woman who dates blacks. This sounds harsh to todays easily offended liberal society I know. I have a few good black friends but I do not believe in mixed marriages. I feel pretty strongly about this. If someone else wants to do it, so be it.

Why do you believe that mixed-race marriages are wrong? I'm not looking for a fight about the issue, I'm just honestly curious.

One can't assume that because people have natural preferences in race that they are somehow racist. I have friends of different colors and ethnic backgrounds, but am not attracted to most races. This doesn't have to do with any preconceived notions of culture or stereotypes. I just never have found myself naturally attracted to some races, but there has always been some exception somewhere. I don't limit my search per say, but at the same time I am realistic as to what I am normally attracted to.

I also have known families who have had a great deal of difficulty bringing up children in these types of environments, but I believe it is a problem that is becoming minimized as society becomes more blended and culturally diverse.

Im mostly attracted to whites & Italians, but id date from any race if the person was fully dedicated to God , respectful,careing,compassionate &loving!!.

I am not opposed to whites marrying asians, native americans, latinos etc.. It just gets under my skin to see a black guy with a white girl. Just like some people do not like certain foods, it does not appeal to me. There are many interacial couples in my church. I just keep quiet and treat them politely. To each their own. Everyone has given their opinion and I gave mine. I am shocked to see how many girls do not consider race! If they are happy that is ok. I have no biblical basis for my views. I just know what I want and I am hope my children have the same values. -Craiger

Hmm...I don't like to eat vegetables, but it doesn't get under my skin to see someone else eating vegetables. Not exactly the same thing, I don't think.

Didn't you say earlier that you would be forcing your views on your children (not allowing them to date someone who is black)?

I'm not riled up about this or anything, I just think there's a difference in really thinking it's ok for someone else if they're happy, and pretending you think it's ok for someone else while you're inwardly letting it "get under your skin".

This thread is so filled with "political correctness" its sickening. Seriously! This entire singles forum is filled with everyone listing everything they want and don't want. Everything from hair color to body type to type of clothes they wear.

Someone asks about race and hardly any one has a preference. It's so taboo to talk about such things! I find it hard to believe as a lot of people here are really picky about everything else yet don't have a skin color preference when it comes to a mate.

Who knows. Maybe I'm wrong. But I'll share my view.

Okay, I do and I don't have a problem. Growing up, I was told I'd be disowned if I dated a black guy. Perhaps now that's why I don't find them attractive. I've had a discussion with my dad recently and he stated that we'd have to "talk" if I were to come home with a black guy. I could pretty much imagine it the same for any race. I started to date a Korean and I was worrying how I would tell my family. Good thing he turned out to be a jerk. I didn't have to worry about it! I know if I came home, told members of my family that I'm dating someone from certain races, they wouldn't have anything to do with me. I have a cousin who dates only black guys. That's her preference. I never understood it as she would never date anyone of another race. Guess it makes more sense to me if you're white and you only date white . . .but if you're white and only date blacks or (fill in race here). Kinda puzzling.

I find myself attracted to Asians and white guys and Native American guys. (Preferably tall ). I don't think, as someone stated above, that it has anything to do with being racists. I've been friends with all sorts of people of all sorts of races. I just think it has to do with personal preferences.

My view wasn't based on political correctness.

My parents aren't in favor of interracial dating either, and I rarely date outside of my race partly because it's just easier not to and partly because I just don't meet that many guys period (much less a big variety of guys with different skin tones!).

I do see different people out in public or on TV of different races (and my same race for that matter) and think "that person is really attractive" though. There are strikingly attractive people of all different skin colors. But what it all comes down to is the heart of the person. I'd 100X rather marry a man of a different race who is a great, growing Christian, and someone I can serve God with (even with all the turmoil that might occur with my parents) than marry a white guy who's just mediocre in areas that are important. There are more important things than race to me.

exactly. When I answered I wasn't going for political correctness either (believe me, if u knew me, u'd know that being PC isn't a real big issue for me) I honestly am attracted more to who the person is than what his skin colour happens to be.

I'd have to say that at this point, I'm more drawn to people of a fairer complexion. Does that mean I wouldn't date outside my race? Absolutely not. I go through phases in regards to physical attraction. I can honestly say that I have never been attracted to a black man in all my life. There are some very good looking ones out there, but I'm just not attracted.

I would like to think that when the right man came along that God would make me completely colorblind so that I could love him for who he is rather than the color of his skin.
