I wanted to put this in a different category but I didn’t know which one to choose so I picked Christian Scripture. If there is a better choice tell me please.

My friend and I are starting a worship service before our Football games this fall every Friday. So last Friday we asked the coach if we could go to a different room and take a few players and talk to them, he said yes. The best part about it was that we didn’t just a few players, there are 48 kids on the team we had probable 25 kids in the room (I’m at a public school). But anyways, I tried to get prepared but I wasn’t very well because it was my first time standing up and teaching the word and I had no clue what I was doing. But my friend saved my butt and winged some stuff and helped me out. I did however find two good verses to read… Psalm 144:1-2.

“A Psalm of David.
The warrior’s psalm
1 Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me”
We read that and then ended on a prayer where we bounced around where anyone could say a prayer.

That was only week 1 of 10… I hope more than 10 (playoffs). We need some scriptures that we can teach on that will teach about team work, trash talking, and all that good stuff. Also can you all give me some scriptures that could “pump” us up (if there is any) and any others that you think would be good for us to preach to the players.

God Bless,
Dave H.
