Every time I read this.. it helps me to focus on God and that ALL my needs are met in Him!!

Luke 4:18-19
18 “ The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,

(I may have said this somewhere before - if so please accept my apologies - you tend to repeat things as you get older!! ) but I had this in the rear window of my Bluebird which I drove for 16 years! So every time I looked in the rear view mirror or opened the boot, I read it. Hmmmm - wonderful!!

Sometimes we focus on vss. 4-8, which I do frequently, but this is a powerfully sobering portion of scripture. We focus on the gifts of the spirit, and on speaking in tongues. That's a good thing to do, not knocking tongues at all. I speak in tongues many times during the day and am very grateful for this means of communication to God. I'm also grateful for the operation of the gift of tongues with interpretation when we come together. But this tells me what I sound like as I speak in tongues if I don't have love.

We focus on faith, another great thing. Without it we can't please God. Yet, if I have faith to move mountains and don't have love, I'm nothing. My faith should be motivated by love.

We hear a lot about giving, another great thing. Again, it must be motivated by love, or it is nothing.
