One of my favorite movies in the 80's was The NeverEnding Story, and I love the song as well.

That is so interesting... I have never heard of anyone who liked that song so much!

I used to think Atreyu was hot - not the one from the 2nd Neverending Story, but the one from the first.

Gotta be If You Leave from Pretty in Pink

I think that's probably the best part of the movie... when that song is playing and Molly's character says, I just want to show them that they didn't break me.. (or something like that) and then she shows up in the most hideous dress ever, but it was cool because she made it herself (and it was the 80's so pretty much everything looked ridiculous). Ahhhh... the days.

I LOVE this thread btw

For me, it's easily "The Last Unicorn" by America from the animated film of the same name.

The Last Unicorn

This has been my favorite cartoon since I was 4. I saw the movie only twice back then but this song stuck with me till I finally found the movie for sale on DVD and bought it a few years back. Still a good movie as an adult and still love this song.

"You Cant always get what you want" Rolling Stones (The Big Chill), very close second "Don't You forget about me", third ... John Parr "Man in Motion" in ( St Elmos Fire), "American Girl" Tom Petty ( Fast Times at Ridgemont High ), "I'll Stop the World & Menlt with You" Modern English (Valley Girl); "Fame" Irene Cara (Fame). Sorry I just could not stop.
