• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Im not sure how to define my family issues but pretty much were at conflict with each other but also it seems we're starting anew for better times. Please pray for my younger brother Sam and Me. We had used each other for support now we're in conflict and it feels like death.

Visions: In my sufferings I have seen some visions and also experiences. - One time the whole house had a smoke smell, I saw blurs in the shower and felt like a sight of fire. One time I was vomitting
several times in pain. I
recalled my younger brothers pain when he dislocated his knee and I called out in distress for him. I looked in the mirror with my eyes in pain and Jesus. Many different visions, of my old self.
My Dad wants me to visit mental health but I dont want to, I want to wait it out with them.

HI Siralex,

Will pray for you and your family relationships. As for the visions you have had I can relate to the smell one, but I would say it is not God giving it to you, often our natural senses pick up a smell, and at times we get a feeling it may be some kind of vision. But this in my experience is just a darker force messing with our minds, trying to get us to over spiritualise everything. It is not a sign that anything is wrong, rather we just have to be wise to not let our minds runaway with them selves. You are probably a person who has a vested interest in the supernatural, this is good, but it is sometimes exploited, where we can start to think every thing is a sign from God. I would suggest ignore these visions, I don't think God is giving it to you. God is certainly for you, and can reveal Himself to you, but just these current experiences need to be moved away from in my opinion. Some of the things you have mentioned however could have been from God, as an encouragment to you, but just be careful not to think every thing you see and hear comes from God.
