  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The sun moves away from the earth at the rate of 5 miles per hour. If we were to go back just 1 million years, the sun would be so hot that the earth, and all it's inhabitants would be dead, and we wouldn't be here.
You'll find that this is not the case. Could you show where you read this? (And in any case, since the earth is orbiting the sun, any 'moving away' would be done by the earth.)

It seems to be a variation of the 'shrinking sun' argument, which is addressed here: http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CE/CE310.html

Edited to add: Everyone is probably busy in the other threads, but rest assured that people will come around to yours sooner or later.

I am a Creationist, ready to debate.

We'll see, but I doubt it.

You still havent provided any proof to back this up. Why not?

Come on evolutionists, this is pathetic. I thought at least one of you would try a feeble answer at this.

Pathetic? Feeble answer? So, let me understand this. Even though no one has posted anything, whatever is posted--regardless of its proven content will be 'feeble' in your eyes? Whats going to happen isnt going to be a debate, it's going to be evidence getting dismissed by stubborn ignorance.

dudeoffaith1 said:
Yeah right. What evidence do you have to support evolution?

You're getting rather rude, and the pompous attitude being displayed isnt going to win anyone over here to 'debate' you.

Evolutionist. Welcome to the boards. First of all there are a couple of things I want to point out just for good order:

1) You may want to practice some patience here, it's not like we're around here every time of the day, and we want to invest time in our responces to make sure that they are correct. Therefor it's rather immature to call us when you haven't given us more then 10 minutes. I need to call on creationists for not awnsering my responce for *DAYS*, so a bit of patience is appreciated.

2) Statements like "Evolution is clearly wrong" are easy to make eh? Try to back it up. Same goes for every other argument you make.

3) Saying that an awnser is feeble even before you saw it is quite dishonest. Please don't say this before you saw the awnser to your question, for it might be a correct awnser.

Hm, this is a relative new one, care to back this up?

Anyways, I can almost smell the bull off this one. Because I think we would freeze our buns off if we'd go 5 miles an hour away from the sun. It's an argument like others have pointed out that is slighty diffrent from the shrinking sun theory. I can find nothing on Nasa that says this is true.

Anyways, this has nothing to do with evolution, but with the age of the Earth, and unless you give me sources I can only disregard this claim.
