Learn what the Qur'an says about Jesus. Understand their misconceptions or beliefs about the Bible or Christianity. From there, you can point out how their beliefs are inconsistent. I suggest any book by Ergun Caner and Emir Caner to help you; they converted from a strong Islamic background to Christianity.

Good advice, I have been debating two muslims online for a couple of months and they will attack all the fundementals of Christianity, so the best thing is to understand what they believe about Christianity and show them there own inconsistencies. Which by the way are glaring. The main thing to remember is to be forthright, yet patient. They have no respect for you unless you make a strong stand for what you believe.

Great advice and links, thank you. I have a new co-worker that is Muslim. He converted about a year ago because his wife is a Muslim, originally from Macedonia. I've never really talked to any Muslims about religion (and was not too sure about their beliefs, especially concerning Jesus,) so this info helps.

Blessings...

I am actively involved with ministering to Muslims on my campus. A couple of tips:
  • If there is a community of Muslims, try to single them out and spend time with them individually. This is crucial because if they are truly seeking/questioning, they will be more apt to open up with you. Do not outwardly profess your beliefs to all of them because they will become skeptical and will not want to spend 1 on 1 time with you. However, there are always exceptions; use your judgement.
  • Debates do not always work. In fact, I have never seen, or heard, a Muslim come to Christ through a debate. Often we want to provide the best arguments of why we are right, and they are wrong. The best thing that I have seen generate the most genuine feedback comes from asking them if they have ever studied the teachings of Jesus. This includes the Bible and other historical texts that support Christ's life.
I hope this helps. And don't forget to pray for God to work in their lives...

I highly recommend the link Irishcat922 posted if you haven't already read it. In fact, I'm considering buying the book. I've also gleaned much info from CARM's web site on Islam. Here's the link:

http://www.carm.org/islam.htm

I've learned a lot about Islam the last couple of weeks and feel much more confident about talking to them about Christ. After all, Islam is the fastest growing religion and we really need to be ready when confronted by them about our faith. I'll be praying for your co-worker.

blessings....
