Well, I remember him first having an issue when Hurley had the manifest.

He really didn't like it when he discovered that THEY had discovered that he was NOT on that plane.

He had been acting rather helpful and nice and stuff. But then he was found out!

And let's not forget his super-human strength.

As normal as he appeared while fixing Juliette's plumbing and receiving orders from Benry... you gotta admit that he kinda "LOST it" when he was dealing with Claire and Charlie with all his ramblings and threats.

The whole Ethan thing...

Maybe he got orders from Benry to kidnap Claire and he thought it would be a piece of cake. If these are the good guys, then why do they kidnap the kids and pregnant women, drug them and then what, kill them after they deliver their babies. Maybe failing Benry in following thru with the whole delivery thing had him scared of what might become of him.

This is bringing up things I had never tied together before -- and still can't. These are supposed to be "the good guys" but we know they kidnapped Claire and Charlie, did experiments or something on Claire, and hung Charlie, leaving him for dead. At least, we believe they hung Charlie - I suppose it could have been the jungle walkers that did that, and maybe that's why the commune Others had to abandon the medical hatch. So many questions...

I do think Ethan's actions came from fear, though. Benry told him and Goodwin to make sure they had credible stories in place before they got to the Losties' camps. Maybe the fact that Ethan was found out got him in serious trouble with Benry.

Does anyone remember the conversation between Ethan and, I think, Zeke, when Claire was having memories of her time in the medical hatch? Was there anything significant said between them that would give a clue about Ethan? I know they talked about the head guy not being happy - I assume that was Benry.

Another question unrelated to Ethan but I'm on a stream of consciousness roll here: how did the commune Others know that there would be survivors at both camps when they saw the plane rip in two? There didn't seem to be any question about it. Ethan and Goodwin were sent out, told to come up with good stories, and come back with lists. It didn't seem like there was any doubt there would be survivors in both places. Why?

Was that in Maternity Leave, I'll rewatch it today and try to pick up on anything.

So Ethan was late with his list. Interesting. That would explain why the Tailies had people and kids snatched, and the Fuselagies did not.

There may have been a larger number of survivors than they thought which proved difficult in making a list in the time asked for by Ben.
