For the sake of the elect, and Christ whom we serve
2 Timothy 2:
3 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ
10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may
obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Remaining a faithful Watchman for the faith
2 Timothy 4:
1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge
the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with
all longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to
their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist,
fulfill your ministry.
Have we considered the perseverance of Job?
James 5:11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the
perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
Being commended for maintaining a conscience without offense
1 Peter 2:19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one
endures grief, suffering wrongfully.
Proving the genuineness of our faith
2 Thessalonians 1:
3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith
grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,
4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience
and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure,
5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted
worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer.
Being the good soil for the Word of God sown into our lives
Mark 4:
16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word,
immediately receive it with gladness;
17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward,
when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.
This is for your salvation
Matthew 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
