  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone else suffer with the same problem I do?

I live in a smaller town on the Central Coast of California and there isn't many Christian guys my age around. No one at church. We don't even have a college ministry any more. I'm thinking about church shopping to see if there are any college age or singles groups, but it just seems sooooo hard to meet people here.

Anyone else plagued by this too?

Some large churches have Singles Ministries that are intended to minister to people from various churches. For example, here in Walnut Creek, there is a Singles Group that meets mainly on the last Friday of every month. It draws people from many different churches, and some who don't go to church.

I go to a larger church, but the singles ministry isn't that great. There is no one- guy or girl- around my age. There are people in their late 30's and up and there are those that are under 23 and that's it. And then there's me. I can get along with those people but I'd like to have someone to relate to and who can relate to me. I don't often do many things with the singles.

The only guy my age is the youth pastor. He's 23 and we even went to the same bible college but he's more like my older brother than anything.

Problem I have is that there's only ONE good looking girl in my town, and I haven't even seen her yet.

Not for nothing but were you on like, a CF hiatus?

I'm in a similar situation. I go to the 2nd largest church in my town, and there are practically no guys around my age who are still single and Christian.

I know it's hard, but I wouldn't church-shop to find a guy. I believe God will bring a guy to me at the right time - our God is a miracle-working God!

Can I tell you a story to illustrate my point? It's quite romantic...

I have a friend who never had a boyfriend until she was like 23. The rest of us went through a few boyfriends, but she said she was waiting for God to bring her the right one. She goes to a small church where there were literally NO guys around her age, AT ALL! So we were all thinking when is she ever going to meet this 'one'? And how, since there are no guys in her church? Still, she waited...

And then one day, this guy visited her church. He was handsome, really really nice, and a Christian! After he met her, he kept 'visiting' the church, and eventually love blossomed.

They got married last month, and I have to tell you, it was the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to.

That girl's patience still inspires me... she waited, and God gave her the desire of her heart.

*sniff*

My church is more families. And in my classes I am one of maybe 2-3 singles. There is maybe 1 single female. She is within my age bracket. I like her, but don't really feel attracted to her all that much. I think what attraction I do feel is based on the fact she is about the only available one I meet at church.

I've been really busy. Read this post. http://www.christianforums.com/showpost.php?p=35125369&postcount=14 it'll explain my day-to-day.

And I got assaulted at work. The guy was sent back to prison so I'm back to work now. AND I didn't have the internet for a while. I wasn't even on myspace for like 5 months.

I wanted to be here, but things we crazy.

How are you Ian? What have you been up to?

Oh, do I! I live in a town of about 3500 people. There aren't any guys that are my age that aare Christians. In fact there realyl aren't any guys my age period. If I choose to got oa different church I would have to drive for over an hour every Sunday, and with the price of gas, I'm not willing to. I'll try to be patient and wait, and if God doesnt' want me waiting, He knows what to do!

Sounds like a familiar place LOL. Where I was, if you stopped longer than it took to buy a can of Coke, they wouldn't ask your name - they would tell you your own name and why you were in town.

Just reading these posts relates to my story.

I was a teacher in a farming town. People left town at the age of 18/19 and returned only after "married with kids" to take over the farm.
This is EXACTLY where I live! In the middle of a flat prairie with only the wheat for company! Everyone leaves after grad and comes only for holidays, most people never move back.

Wow that's one amazing story. I'm hoping I'll have a wonderful story to tell one day.

But yeah back to the OP. I know what you mean. I go to a large church also but it's still hard to find someone because one there's no singles ministry and two the bible study groups are not coed. Which is NOT by no means all bad but still how are we supposed to meet someone?

I have no idea how I'm supposed to meet someone. I guess I should do like Spatch's friend and just wait...
Patients is a virtue. Sometimes I get impatient with life too. But God can provide the most amazing person if we just follow His guidance. God led me here, and I've made some wonderful friends. One more special than the rest!
