And I look forward to seeing children being educated in something other than how to dress up like a drag queen.I look forward to reviewing any and all legislation passed by Republican school boards.
Many of them make it simple enough. If they say they'll support school choice,
traditional values,
teaching American history,
and keeping parents involved in the children's education,
they're likely to be conservative.
Gender isn't a choice. I know of no one (personally or otherwise) that chose their gender. If they say they'll emphasis gender choice,
equity = liberal ? Given your previous statements on liberalism does that mean you think equity = bad? (Alrighty then.)equity,
No school should be teaching Graham Hancock and his ilk.alternate history,
Not sure how you "teach" this.and alternative lifestyle choices
, they're likely to be liberal.
To be a Republican win they need to actually be from the party. Teaching American history isn't enough to credit them.No need to be partisan as in Republican or democrat when they run for school board. Their plans for office tell the story, and it's up to the voter to understand that.
Republican or democrat, Conservative or liberal. Is it really the word that matters to you? I care more about the policies, and I stand with those who promote conservative ones. I know you disagree, so I'll save you the trouble of telling me that.Conservative or liberal, sure, but this doesn't specify a school board win was "for the Republicans". I'm going to go with if the ballot doesn't have (D) or (R) by the candidate then it wasn't a win/loss for a party at all.
Now onto the things...
School choice is an attempt to destroy public education. It might be right wing, but it does not conserve anything.
vague, but if they align to your "traditional values" this probably means teaching doctrine. (Let's break the establishment clause.)
All American schools teach American history.
Also pretty standard.
Your list of "conservative" identifiers include two things found in all schools, a constitutional violation, and an attempt to destroy public education.

You have weird ideas about liberals.

(And I noted I didn't have access to any substantive information about the school board candidates.)

If the Right successfully takes control of Public Education they’ll eventually shut it down since they’re never get a majority to go along with their teaching-agenda, (mainly that “America is this Great Good that God created for the benefit of the World” and “Sure we had problems when everybody was racist, but that’s all over now.”Many of them make it simple enough. There are drag queens in schools now you say?And I look forward to seeing children being educated in something other than how to dress up like a drag queen.
Or being convinced that they don't know which sex they are.
They might even go so far as to make reading, math, science, history, and technology a priority over drag-queen story hour, or trying to confuse young children about which sex they are. Wouldn't that be terrible? If the Right successfully takes control of Public Education they’ll eventually shut it down since they’re never get a majority to go along with their teaching-agenda, (mainly that “America is this Great Good that God created for the benefit of the World” and “Sure we had problems when everybody was racist, but that’s all over now.”
As far as I can tell, the only agenda is to obstruct the Biden administration and hold spite investigations.I welcome the spectacle of the fight for Speaker. Someone will need to herd cats and secure an agreement that 218 sign on to.
At least they've had 2 years of being shown how to do that.As far as I can tell, the only agenda is to obstruct the Biden administration and hold spite investigations.
Non sequitur.
I might be more direct. If Trump had kept out of the process of proposing and backing candidates, the Republicans had a much better chance of winning control of the Senate. And yes, the key competitive states were
NC
OH
NV
AZ
PA
GA
To gain control, the Republicans needed four. I don't think that it is hindsight to say that Trump's influence hurt their chances. They got two.
Even in GA, Trump might have privately suggested that he run, and then stayed away. Trump tried to mess with the races of governor, SOS and senate. He needed to just stay out. If Trump was never mentioned, and Walker supported Kemp throughout the process, Walker might very well have won in the general. He came very close. If Republicans had one more in the general. Walker would likely have won the runoff.

But again, as in 2020, thank you Mr. Trump.
And in other news, Kari Lake and Mark Finchem's lawyers just got sanction over this:
Manchin should be next. What now?: Sinema’s defection from Dems sends shock waves through Hill
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona says she is switching her party affiliation to independent after months of harassment from leftists demanding her ouster in a 2024 primary, stunning the Senate after Democrats secured a 51-seat majority with a big win in Georgia.
What now?: Sinema’s defection from Dems sends shock waves through Hill
Democrats will retain enough votes to control the Senate and its committees, but Kyrsten Sinema’s decision alters power dynamics within the party and landed with a major thud.www.washingtontimes.com
Why? Sinema was presumably facing a very tough primary battle, and the goal of this was to force the Democrats to not field anyone against her or risk splitting the field and losing. There is little indication that Manchin has much worry about his primary (the Democrats undoubtedly know he is their only chance at victory) and so there is little reason for him to go Independent.Manchin should be next.
Manchin (and Sinema) have faced backlash from their party for not going along with the party before, and biden has basically given Manchin a slap in the face when it comes to coal: Manchin unloads on Biden over coal plant commentsWhy? Practically speaking this doesn't seem like it would do much in congress; she's still going to caucus with the Democrats (and lest anyone say "well she's no longer a Democrat, that's a difference, right?" keep in mind that Bernie Sanders isn't technically a Democrat). The only thing it seems like it would actually affect is the 2024 election if she opts to run again.
