I have a question regarding the cross with two horizontal lines instead of the normal one that I see at church. I haven't been around here long enough to post links or a pic, so you will have to use your imagination. Maybe someone will post a pic of one as an example. It looks like a normal cross with an extra...cross. Kinda like the two X's in the Exxon logo at the gas station (only turned upright).

Is this where we get the term Double Crossed? Any why does it mean betrayal??

One version of the "double cross" has what looks like a small bar above the transverse axis of the cross. This refers to the inscription which was placed above Jesus' head, i.e. INRI -- "Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum", is Latin for "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews".

In Orthodox Christianity, a small bar appears BELOW the transverse axis, near the bottom of the cross. The bar is lower on the left side and higher on the right side. The lower side represents the unrepentant thief who was crucified with Jesus; and the higher side represents the thief who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah and asked Jesus to remember him in Paradise.
