They needed very little sustenance daily to keep them alive. Shelter and clothing would not need daily maintenance as they do now. Man did not watch TV, 'go to work', attend sporting events, shop, go out to eat, surf the net, or have any of the time-wasters we have. There was plenty of time to study the constellations and contemplate God. And plenty of time to worship God. I especially love this because I know it was from the Hebrews to God, showing Him they were awaiting the Messiah (who would be 12th ring, the final Son of God). https://songofmary.wordpress.com/page/2/

Thanks, those stone circles are interesting too.

What I find strange about the dolmens is that they are all over the world. Either there was a somewhat shared culture or there is some primal inclination to make table-like structures from rocks.

Sometimes glaciers left rocks precisely balanced on other rocks. I was wondering if this might have inspired primitive people to replicate this uncommon occurrence to give significance of some kind to a location?

Apparently archaeologists believe the dolmens were a chamber inside a burial mound that has eroded away, but they have not found signs of burials. I have wondered if these were territorial markers for a tribe? Or maybe they were memorials of some kind? The Bible says the Israelites erected rocks to memorialize their entry into the promised land.

Megaliths and cairns are interesting too.

I think to appreciate these ancient artifacts one needs to visit them in person.. I've only had a limited contact with such places.. I've been to the Yucatan and parts of northern Israel... I believe they are generally evidence of spiritually inherent in us all.
