I'm with you on everything but the spiders. We live out in the country and have some rather large spiders in our house. I'm concerned about bites.

Do you do it because it is necessary?
Remember they are creation of God.
Perhaps you would enjoy living in a place that is infested with cockroaches then. And I mean every cockroach one to three inches from the next one... every flat surface covered with them.

They are not clean creatures. Therefore I do not want them in my home or car. However, I don't mind the insects in my house that kill the other insects.

Scouting ants that explore leave a trail for other ants to follow. They are attracted by the scent of food, they sneak around and get into the opened food, you don't know that there are ants in your home until you spot one. The trail contaminates whatever clean thing it has crawled on.

Spiders bite the person that they crawl on.. at night while you sleep, or while your sitting in a chair. The bite becomes itchy and lasts for days. Sometimes they return and bite again in the exact same place. In extreme cases an allergic person could have a severe attack or die.
With their manners they deserve to be and stay outdoors. If they sneak inside then yes, they forfeit their lives.
Animals that also live outdoors have to put up with them, I don't. Even though God has provided animals with a tail to bat them away, yet I notice that the swatting is almost constant. God has also gifted those animals that they don't go crazy with the persistant insects hovering and landing on them.

Spiders scare me. I always see them out of the corner of my eye before the quickly go scampering off. I go after them with whatever i can find (even windex) before they go into hiding and then come out again, and worse, have babies, etc.

So are alligators, cobras, and other venous creatures, so are hungry wild lions and tigers, and elephants, though not carnivorous, can be a bit of a problem in the home. And the bodily eliminations of these creatures also pose a health hazard, not to mention an olfactory assault.
Are you serious?! Cockroaches and many other bugs carry horrible diseases, and can painfully bite. If you want to live with them, be my guest, just please do not invite me over for dinner nor bring me any of the food you have cooked in your home. And BTW---do you wash your hands after going to the bathroom? Remember, germs and viruses are God's creation also.
Of course, at this point it may be a little hard to tell as to what was an original creation of God and what Satan has genetically altered to try and destroy us and make our lives miserable.

If I could, I would kill not just a few but every Emarald Ash Borer, everyone of them. They were introduced here and they are going to kill every single Ash tree in a few more decades. Look it up and see.

That's horrendous. What is their natural enemy?

Yes, its like before the great flood of Noah, all flesh was corrupted that had the breath of life by the Nephilim. Everyone except for Noah who was perfect in His 'generations', only he and family had not been tainted or evilly modified or enhanced by the devil's creatures.

I don't enjoy killing them, but sometimes find it necessary and seek out ways to avoid it. They usually fall prey to the vacuum when it happens and I suppose if they can survive that experience, they are welcome to live on until the next vacuuming session. I have also used the glass with card under it to safely remove them if they are a species healthy for the environment and helpful in clearing out other pests. I do try to actively avoid vacuuming up little spiders in webs in various corners as they can be helpful in removing other pests from the home if left alone.

Oh, Pah--lease! Not that silly thing! There have been many threads on that topic--and I've been on most debunking it. That is not the topic of discussion here and would totally sidetrack the conversation and end up closing the thread!

Do you do it because it is necessary?
Remember they are creation of God.
I've thought about this a lot. The fallen world is death. Death is the answer to everything. Squash bugs, kill relationships that stress you out by leaving it, and so on. When we think of the dominion mandate from Genesis, we see it in terms of death. Kill the enemies. American Christians believed in the dominion mandate for North America. Sometimes they negotiated Native Americans to move to new territory. Sometimes they slaughtered the resistance.

But what did God mean when he told Adam to have dominion before the fall? How do we have dominion according to life and not death? I am still meditating on the topic.

However, getting back to your specific question, insects are necessary to ecology. They are the gardeners of God. They break down waste matter and turn organic material into soil. They also pollinate plants to increase plant reproduction. So, yes, they are God's creation.

Simply being God's creation is not enough, tho. All creation has been damaged by the fall of man. Thorns did not exist in paradise, but they grew as a consequence of man's sin. It is not likely that any creature was poisonous either, but some changed as a result of the fall.

So, to answer your question. Yes, I kill insects in the house, and depending on the circumstance outdoors, too. Ever try growing a garden without managing insects? Ever get stung by a wasp who built her nest in your door frame?

Yes, life is sacred, but not all life is the same. It was God who told Noah to eat animals after the Flood. Probably before that it was not done. But after the Flood it became necessary until vegetation regrew. Insects have very short life spans but reproduce abundantly. If moths get into your pantry, they will lay eggs you can not easily see and multiply, devouring your food. If you don't kill them, they will spread and eat your clothing in your closets, as well.

New Age thinking and environmentalists affects the thinking of some Christians. California burned badly last year. One big reason is because forestry management was stopped and deadwood built up beneath the forests providing abundant fuel for forest fires. Trees have to be pruned and trim to grow healthy. If we don't do it, then it will happen naturally with either strong winds, fires, or both.

Tarzan was right. Kill when needed, but don't needlessly kill. When Jesus returns, then we will truly understand how to have dominion based upon life and not death.

Yes. With a vengeance.

And yes, it's necessary.

My cat agrees with me.

LOL I usually take my cat over to one to let her kill it for me. Sometimes I saw one she had already killed but most of the time she eats them.
