  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I did once start a thread here trying to define a crush a bit more precisely than we tend to.

well for one, I like a lot of girls, but I have found that I haven't really met anyone with that special quality that separates her from the pack, sure physical attractiveness is nice, but I go for an emotional/intellectual connection, and so I just don't let myself just get attracted to any pretty gal.

Okay... I think it's safe to say that things have drastically changed, for better or for worse. I'm only down to one crush, and up until second semester she was pretty much unapproachable. Now I'm in a class with her and have eaten with her friends and her a few times, but now with only six weeks left in my freshman year (I can't believe it!) I'm starting to get frantic. I really want to get to know her, but I don't have a lot of time. There's quite a few girls who I know will remember me over the summer, but I haven't gotten to know this one very well (naturally), and am kind of anxious about the little time left in the year. I have to get to work.
