Harlan Norris said:Quite a few Christin martyr's were burned at the stake.I'd call that cremation. When we die we leave our bodies.Jesus said,God is able of these rocks to raise up decendants of Abraham.I can't find anything in scripture that says do not cremate.
SharonL said:My friend says the Bible says cremation will send you straight to Hell.
He will not discuss it or tell me where the Bible says this.
Do any of you believe this and if so where do you find it in the Bible.
I have never seen this in the Bible and do not believe it.
Any comments
Yes you are right, thanks.NacDan said:I agree with you point, however, it is John the baptist you are quoting, not Jesus. (Luke 3:8)

Mysterium_Fidei said:This isn't correct. You'll be hard pressed to find a Roman Catholic that believes cremation sends one to hell. The Roman Catholic Church allows cremation, while favoring a traditional Christian burial.
I think it would be cool to be cremated and have your ashes scattered over a favorite place.cherokeehippie said:Annie Oakley--who loved God, chose to be cremated. I think I know why she did it. She was a very modest lady, so modest, that she made sure a woman prepared her body for her funeral and that the woman took care of her body in cremation, not a man. I believe she chose to be cremated because she was famous and some weirdos might would have wanted to dig up her body and steal it and she didn't want that to happened. This was in the 20's and I watched a documentary one day where they told of a very sick demented man who dug up the body of his sweetheart-in Florida--and had sex with her. This happened in the 20's. I think maybe Annie heard about that. (she and her husband used to visit Florida in their later yrs.) and took actions to make sure nothing like that would happen to her. Annie died in 1926.

I wanted to add another meaningless post... but then decided not 2.
Have a nice day!

It tasted terrible though.
