So god gave us a requirement that we can never keep?
Or as some, wrongfully insist, that He gave the Jews a requirement that no one can ever achieve? God is a unreasonable God then.
sir, the veil was rent - no disrespect, what I do and what I do not do is between me and the Lord - I need 'confess' to no one
and I don't see how your query changes anything I posted
What happens if say... I loved to kill people, or I loved to steal from Wal-Mart. I did it out of love!
It amazes me that Christians actually defend thier "right" to sin. It never fails that those who cling to such liberty have a strong practice of sin. When confronted about sin they claim "I am not under the law". In doing so they fail to esteem the sacrifice of Christ.
Jesus did not die so you could sin.
He died to free you from the penalty of sin, to free you from the bondage to sin, and freed you to serve a new master, that is to serve God.
If you love God you will keep his commandments. If you don't your sins will find you out. Your lips can be close to God while your heart is far from him. Test yourselves to see whether or not you are in the faith.
and what love would this be? IS this the love that is spoken of in scripture. Love is Gentle love is kind ect? Or is this boasting in sin?
Do you keep all God's commandments perfectly, Lionroot? If you don't then in His estimation you aren't keeping any of them (James 2:10).It amazes me that Christians actually defend thier "right" to sin. Gentiles worship other gods, use God's name in vain, worship idols and forget the Sabbath until God is able to write His Law in their hearts and minds.
Than you Emmy. Romans 13:9Dear Elder111. Matthew, chapter 22, verses 35-40, tells us that Jesus told a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: " Love thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like unto it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." Then Jesus points out: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God gave us ten Commandments, and Jesus told us in Two, Love is what God wants of us, selfless and beneficicial: straightforward and easy to remember. Jesus will give us His Love and Joy, and the Holy Spirit will empower us with His Love. Jesus told us: " Ask and ye will receive," that is a promise to us. Everything we say or do, which is without love, God will disapprove of, and everything which shows love, God will approve of and bless us. The Bible tells us again and again: " Repent," change our selfish and unloving character INTO: Loving God with all our beings, and loving our neighbour as ourselves. Love is a Christian`s weapon to overcome all adversity, all temptations and all angry opposition, it might take longer, but it always works. We will stumble and fail often, but we ask God`s forgiveness in serious prayer, and God will forgive us. Jesus taught us to pray: " Father forgive us our trespasses as we will forgive those who trespass against us." We also have much time to become better and better, Love is catching, and people will treat us, as we treat them. Jesus is our Way, Jesus will lead us back to where we came from, and Love will always lead us on. I say this with love, Elder. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
My friend, How did they sin? Was it not by breaking the law? Is there another definition for sin? Is not stealing a sin? Then how and the ten that say so be abolished? How can you remove the first commandment, that calls for us to worship God only?IF the law could have been kept then there would not have been the need for Christ. For all men have sinned. This is why we are to walk in faith through Love. For it is Christ in us the very hope of glory. Nothing to do with the 10 or the law. For even they could not save the Jews. Christ had to come and redeem mankind of their sins to all who have Christ and all those who will have Christ.
No requirements for the Sabbath was changed. Jesus kept the Sabbath as God intended for all men. What quoted is reflective of the true Sabbath keeping. the Jews made God's sabbath a burden and Jesus had to deal with that. A man is sick and they condemned Jesus for healing Him. The disciples are hungry and they condemned them for eating corn from the field. It's not so much resting from "work" as doing God's work and relying fully on God.
Yes - the Sabbath laws WERE changed because the requirements of keeping them changed. Otherwise, Jesus (and certainly his disciples) would be breaking the Sabbath. If you rest in God, you are keeping the Sabbath. Otherwise known as LOVING God.
I fully believe this and by my faith I am not condemned. By your standards loving God and trusting him on the Sabbath (and for me - and all other Christians should - all other days) is not enough.
By the Spirit and Grace of God and when I fall I have an advocate Just like you and all Christians should. So then are you achieving to keep the 10? And if you are striving to do this what is your reward?
You completely avoided the point. I said only the ten were written by God. Is that so or not?More than just the 10 came from the Lord, however.
In Exodus 24:3, after going into great detail in the previous passages about all the various and sundry laws besides just the 10, it states: "When Moses went and told the people all the LORD's words and laws, they responded with one voice, 'Everything the LORD has said we will do.'" My point being that not only the Ten Commandments came from God Himself; therefore, law-keepers would need to take all those commands equally seriously if they're going to earn the title of Commandment Keeper of the Year.
.
Is not walking God's way within the requirements of the law?You may not murder. But if you are even angry at a person you have committed that which some say we must obey out of the 10. You may not have physically committed adultry but even if you look with lust you have done that which the law says not to do. So the law brings with it a curse. But Christ became that curse for us. For it is not our righteousness that we try to aquire by living the 10. It is Christs righteousness that has been imputed to us. It is God who causes us to walk His way and nothing to do with the law.
So we can not keep the law, therefore we have no need of it? How come we are smarter than God who gave it? How come God says it will never change?Who was able to keep the law? It only take one time to break it. Name any person that has kept it during their lives. We know Jesus kept the law but who is the second person? Can you name him or her?
Could it be you?
Are you any difference? You removed the law so you would not be guilty?Do you keep all God's commandments perfectly, Lionroot? If you don't then in His estimation you aren't keeping any of them (James 2:10).
I believe while all humans other than Jesus can't keep the law, it is designed to convict us of our sin. If we were able to keep all ten commandments, then we would not be guilt of being a sinner. So we can not keep the law, therefore we have no need of it? How come we are smarter than God who gave it? How come God says it will never change?
Matt 5 17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
