But, the problem is that if you don't already believe in them, then there's no way to tell the difference between a true religious truth, a delusion and a deliberate lie.

Interesting assertion. Do you have any evidence to support it? I spent most of my teenage years trying to convince myself that the Christian God existed. I very much wanted to believe his existence was real. Despite my best efforts in that direction I failed. I've felt no inclination before or since to disprove the existence of any God. For one thing I don't think that would be possible; certainly not with the tools of science.Try thinking and doing the exact opposite of what you have been indoctrinated with and practice. Know this...all of us have actively attempted to disprove the existence of God (this is our unnatural bent)...whether consciously or unconsciously from birth...be like the salmon and try swimming upstream...
