Not just repentance but also total denial of self interest in favor of total obedience to God by living in holiness. Only Satan would want that suppressed. He preached repentance throughout His entire ministry.
What does your statement even mean and what does it have to do with the topic? It seems as if the concerns of the LGBT community will be directly proportionate to the judgmentalism of the "Christians."
If they aren't preachy hypocrites hopefully they would be welcomed.
One could only wonder. Why did you add negative thoughts about something positive that had happened?
Last I checked, Jesus said "Go and sin no more." Not, you're fine bruh."Because the Religious Right's interpretation of Christianity seems to have very little of what I would call identifiably Christian ethics and morality--based on how Jesus lived his life on earth, a servant leader living in voluntarily poverty, reaching out to the poorest and most ostracized members of society, preaching the Beatitudes and the two great commandments.
The fact of the matter is that the Gospel message is offensive to anyone who wishes to remain in darkness because it is a light that shines onto those who wish to remain in hiding. What does scripture say about people who are more concerned about satisfying the world at the expense of building the kingdom of God?A Christian character with those views is exactly the kind of Christian character who would offend most of the TV watching world, spouting stereotypes and falsehoods.
Yet one forum member brings it up out of nowhere. So who really thinks that the LGBT nonsense is the most important aspect of Christian ethics? If you think that's the most important aspect of Christian ethics, getting that issue right, you are living in spiritual delusion.
What did Paul say in his letter to Philpi? As a Christian, I think Disney films like Lilo and Stitch represent more genuine Christ-like values, than this shameless pandering.
To paraphrase Luther, a Christian shoemaker does not make shoes with little crosses embossed on them... he simply makes good shoes.
It seems there is only one side getting worked up about it.It's a cartoon character praying to be good at a ball game. Everyone calm down.
What does it say about a person when a cartoon character prays and that person is wailing and gnashing of teeth? Just saying. The content and context of that repentance is what is being debated.
For too long, religion in the western world has been used as a tool of oppression of the powerful against the powerless, and even the hermeneutic by which many Christians read the Bible is shaped by the same oppressive mindset. This is contrary to the actual character of Jesus of Nazareth.
The OP article talks about how concerned the LGBTQ movement is over a Christian character being in a series for children. What does your statement even mean and what does it have to do with the topic?
It shouldn't be, but it often is now because of LGBTQ being so involved in children's entertainment and education.I don't watch cartoons but I don't think that sexuality is a topic of discussion.
There are adult cartoons, too, but they aren't marketed to kids.
Fair enough. For the community to respond in such a way for such simple and trivial matters, I am reminded of the demon possessed people in scripture who were screaming and shrilling because Jesus said a few words. The OP article talks about how concerned the LGBTQ movement is over a Christian character being in a series for children.
Seems like a turf thing. The LGBTQ movement wants children's entertainment and education to be their turf. They don't want Christianity muscling in on it. The kids belong to them now.
I agree. So they should probably keep it out of the elementary school classrooms as well.I don't watch cartoons but I don't think that sexuality is a topic of discussion.

It is because of the religious right's treatment of them that they are upset. They have shown them the ugly side of Christianity.Fair enough. For the community to respond in such a way for such simple and trivial matters, I am reminded of the demon possessed people in scripture who were screaming and shrilling because Jesus said a few words.
Then Jesus is also guilty of showing this "ugly side of Christianity" when he said, "Go, and sin no more."It is because of the religious right's treatment of them that they are upset. They have shown them the ugly side of Christianity.
It's open season on LGBTQ because of their infiltration into children's entertainment, schools, libraries etc while going around chanting "we're here, we're queer, WE ARE COMING FOR YOUR CHILDREN!".It is because of the religious right's treatment of them that they are upset. They have shown them the ugly side of Christianity.
Our city had a gay Episcopal priest who was loved by people of many faiths because he modeled the love of Christ to all.
Since DEI has been demonized, LGBT's feel like it's open season against them now. Trans people who served honorably and heroically in the military are losing their careers.
Is it any wonder they are suspicious of the "judgmental Jesus" worshipped by the religious right?
Oh, so you agree it's open season. It's open season on LGBTQ because of their infiltration into children's entertainment, schools, libraries etc.
They are upset because they ran the country for the last decade and now their rule has been questioned. Not only by the 'religious right' but by plain old atheists and agnostics too.It is because of the religious right's treatment of them that they are upset.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, is as judgmental as the woke DEI hordes who have pushed the trans thing down our throats for years now. They just don't want to lose the power to keep doing that. Few Christians are as judgmental as those guys are.Is it any wonder they are suspicious of the "judgmental Jesus" worshipped by the religious right?
