In a previous post to another forum, I stated the following.
Is it not funny how the writings of someone else, who one trusts, can be taken for Gospel, and can affect ones belief without actual proof?. I just realized that I thought there would be a judgment to come when the believer would be judged for his/her works, and rewarded accordingly... Yet, I find that I cannot currently prove that belief biblically. If, when the Spirit prompts me to do so, I can prove it biblically, I will accept and profess it, otherwise I will reject this belief, (and perhaps learn not to) put (so) much "faith" in one on whom I have come to trust concerning biblical prophesy. Until then, I think I will remain silent in hopes of concealing my personal ignorance concerning this particular subject.
Just one more example of the weakness of the flesh.
Well, be it coincidence or the Holy Spirit, those who are of the Spirit will recognize the works thereof, my answer was revealed to me the very same night I wrote that post. Yes, we believers will face judgment... And thought it is not the same judgment the unsaved will face, it is in scripture in more than one place. I would put the believer in mind of what Paul wrote in his epistle to the Romans, Ch 14, verse 10 You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.
There is no doubt that occasionally, the BAC, or SS (born again Christian or "saved sinner" as I like to call us, for we have all sinned , and anyone who says they do not, is a liar according to the Word) can be lead astray by myth or half truth, but God stated that he would write His laws (His Word) on the very inner parts, and the hearts of his children.
No doubt, many will see it differently but I see Jer 31:33 as stating what I have just said. But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. It is on this foundation which I base the following.
He has written His word on our hearts, saved and unsaved sinners alike. We are all His people, for he created us for His Glory. We belong to Him. There are those who say, "Have it your way Lord." Then there are those to whom the Lord states, "Ok, have it your own way.
Still and yet, His word has been written on the hearts of His creation, saved and unsaved alike. That both, often do not recognize the word He has written on their hearts, is evident. That we who have chosen to open our eyes and hearts to His truth, learn to recognize what is in our very own hearts, is a necessity, for our individual growth and His Glorification. That he who chooses logic and reason over what some, so ignorantly call "blind" faith, learns to listen to that which is written on his heart, is necessary for the ultimate condition of his eternal soul.
There is a difference between what is in the heart, and what might likely be confused as having been written on the heart, when actually it originated from the mind, which is highly impressionable and vulnerable to the deception of the enemy.
So what is the answer?
How is one to know whether something is from the heart, or the mind?
There are two answers, yet there is only one answer. (I can't help it! I am a "wanta be parablist.)
I like the way the KJ states the answer. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Ti 2:15. In rightly dividing, one will learn to weigh, even his own thoughts against the truth in scripture. If it is contrary, or in addition to the word of scripture, it is not what God has written on the heart.
