  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did God create man or did man create God?"

You spend hours a day on here discussing religion yet you've never discussed it with your brother who happens to be a Hindu priest?
We do not talk that much. He likes to drink and I do not drink. We were a lot closer back when I use to get together with him and drink alcohol. He goes to a monastery somewhere and meditates and they teach him stuff. So I suppose he feels Buddhism is more compatible with science or at least his objectives.

So do you think there is more evidence that man created God then there is evidence that God created man?
My contribution to the competition of asking silly questions:

Do you think there are more evidence that man created ice creams than god created ice creams?

Is this something you are telling me from personal experience?

From personal experiences I know there are more evidence that people makes more people than gods makes people.
From personal experiences I know there are more evidence that people makes gods than gods makes people.

What are your experiences of gods making people?

I speak English because I was born in England to English parents who could only speak English
There are no English people, English is a universal language. Under the Romans the British people were considered to be the people of what is now England, then after the Romans left the Anglo & Saxton tribes moved in. Later on the Norman people. Most likely you mean that you are Germanic descent. There is some French influence in England but that is through the women not the men. There is some influence though Charlemage and the Franks but I don't get into all of it that much.

They tell me I am not suppose to eat ice cream because the fat can clog the arteries. God created milk of course. The Bible talks about Israel being a land flowing of milk and honey. So there was an abundance. When you talk about ice cream I prefer frozen yogurt because science says that the fermentation is beneficial. I so not know so much about frozen ice cream as I do snow because I use to ski and they have over 100 different words to describe snow. If it is cold enough then water will crystallize. Also you can have little snow balls or rain can freeze and create hail. I am sure God has that all figured out and some people understand it. My 17 year old son got a B in Enriched Chemistry so maybe he could explain it to us. The principle for food remains the same. The sun has light waves that are a form of energy. The plant converts that energy into food (and elements from the ground). The mother eats the food and converts it into milk and feeds the milk to the baby. Ice cream of course is the thicker richer cream off the top of the milk. Cows are very efficient. They spend all day taking grass and turning it into milk.

HAHAHAHA! You are funny! Tell that to English people....
I am of English descent but if you trace it back far enough I am more Norman. Rather than Anglo, Saxon or the even smaller Briton (British). They use to keep pedigrees of all that stuff. People use to keep real close track of it. Even the Bible is filled with genealogies.

There are no option to select "I am God' in the settings. I guess only then you would believe anything said.
Reminds me of One of my favourite Buffy the Vampire Halloween episodes, the one where OZ turns up in normal clothes for a halloween party, but with a post-it labelled GOD.

Have you heard of this:

Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

He is talking about closed v.s. open systems. But I take it you admit an open system indeed is needed to keep life going...

So even further back you are of Danish/Norwegian decent.... and since the Saxons and Anglo where from the same region (south Denmark) it is more or less the same people in the end anyway. But when is the supposed god to have made all these people?

Btw, what you says reminds me of this:

Not saying that god did not create man, just saying this is stuff scientists finds all the time.

There could be anything beyond that mile but if we can't find anything do we still have the right to say something exists just because we want it to exist?
Can you back it up in writing?

Yes ... but not prior to the Fall, when things were quite a bit different.

Maybe you could check with your brother and see if he's a buddhist or a hindu. Those are very different ...

I am not allowed to tell you what you are, I also know what you are not but I'm not allowed to tell you that either.
I know why you are a Christian but again I am not allowed to tell you why, suffice to say the reason is obvious.
