  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position.
James 1:9

If you are in a humble circumstance James tells us that we are to take pride in this high position. I know that this sounds odd. We don't consider being in a humble circumstance to be a high position. However, if you look at successful businesses, they tell us that being on top means being wealthy, attaining favor and status, or having the power to influence. But, with Jesus we get
all this through our weakness. God's mercy in our lives can bring us out of any humble circumstance because of what God teaches us while we're low. Therefore, we are able to reach that high place and succeed. He doesn't intend for us to stay there. It is merely a stopping place to learn something important that we would not learn otherwise. This is what God did with me last week. I was struggling to learn how to keep a little self-control and he showed me the way. I asked for help with this the week before without even realizing it. ~Slaps a hand over my mouth & looks surprised~ Mom always told me I had a big mouth. Now it's catching up with me. ~Hehe~

2 Chronicles 20:1-13

Praise is celebrating the Lord. However, whenever trouble strikes, it seems odd to celebrate. A life of faith is contrary to normal human understanding. But, if we respond to troubles the way that Jehoshaphat did by recalling God's past work and faithfulness, we too will be able to go on with courage to face whatever we're going through. Self-pity is the natural response to troubles. We rehash it all in our minds...over and over. Praise focuses our attention on God. Every trial comes through his permissive will. Whatever the reason for allowing it, he is faithful in seeing us through it. As believers if we try to solve our problems independently, the Lord can't work freely. Everything we do is limited only by our knowledge. The more we study God's word, the better we understand his character and his promises. This makes it easier to cope and allow him to carry us through when trouble comes.
This is something I've been doing for a while now without even realizing it. I've often times spoken to God in prayer and said..."I know you will help me with this because you've always helped me before." He's always been there for us before therefore, he will be there for us again because he is faithful to taking care of his children.

Brat! ~LOL~

Today's Encouraging Word

If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
Malachi 2:2 {NIV}

When we lay something to heart, that basically means we are taking something to heart. We should always be willing to take the word of God to heart. His word is the key to our salvation and our growth.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Romans 8:29 {NIV}

To be conformed (molded) into the image and inward likeness of Jesus.Jesus lived the Torah. I had to do some looking because I had no clue what the Torah was. It's a term in Judaism but it is also referred to as the 5 books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus,
Numbers & Deuteronomy. We need to realize that if we are going to follow Jesus and live as He lived, it will be a Torah-based lifestyle that is empowered by the Holy Spirit! The word Torah means basically "teaching" whether it is the wise man instructing his son or God instructing Israel. The wise give insight into all aspects of life so that the young may know how to conduct
themselves and to live a long blessed life. So too God, motivated by love, reveals to man basic insight into how to live with each other and how to approach God. Through the law God shows his interest in all aspects of man’s life which is to be lived under his direction and care. Law of God stands parallel to word of the Lord to signify that law is the revelation of God’s will. More accurately, we could translate the word "Torah" to mean "teaching or instruction from God" rather than "Law." God provided this instruction because He loved man and wanted him to know how to live and be blessed. Wouldn’t it sound ridiculous for believers to run around and tell everyone that they are not under the loving instruction of God, but only His grace? In most
cases, that is exactly what we have done. Much of God’s instruction is still applicable for the Believer today. If we are going to live like Jesus lived, we must re-examine the Torah and allow the Holy Spirit to teach us to live according to His divine instruction. I was trying to explain this to a friend the other night but he insisted that the OT was merely for learning and not for doing. He claims there is no way we can keep those laws. However, I find a great deal in the OT that is
applicable to my life. So, I do what I can manage.
"21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and
praying, the heaven was opened, 22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove
upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well
pleased."
Luke 3:21-22
"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary
place, and there prayed."
Mark 1:35 {KJV}

Jesus was a man of prayer. He would get up before his disciples so that he had the time to center his mind and heart upon his heavenly Father before he started his day. Are we being conformed into this image? This is an area that I need to work on. My studies this morning speak of the fact that in order for us to mature into healthy adult christians, we need approval from our heavenly Father. Paul was a man of prayer. He knew the hand of God was upon him. Even in the midst of
controversy & tribulation he pressed forward. Why? Because his heart had been strengthened by the approval he got from the Lord.

Ministry
"Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work."

John 4:34
"For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me."

John 6: 38
Often when people do ministry work they are more concerned with what their audience wants to hear. What will keep them happy. What will get me and my message or my ministry noticed. What will keep folks reaching into their pockets to give. Give, give, give. How often do we hear so much message about pray, pray, pray? Jesus was only interested in doing the Father's will and allowing the Father to meet his needs. Perfect obedience to Him brings perfect provision from His hand. Without His abiding affirmation and approval, we step out in ministry with these "worldly" feelers out. We need approval and provision. Because we have not been trained on how to receive it from our Heavenly Father before and while venturing out into ministry, we are by default forced to receive both from men. The sad part is that if we learn to please people, it can be a road to success . . . at least in the short term. It will also lead to compromise, receiving our rewards from men rather than God and eventually stumbling spiritually. Paul was ever conscious of this. He expressed his desire to void running and ministering in vain. There is nothing worse than feeling like you're doing God's work in vain. Remember this important lesson: If I respond to the many without direction from God, He will allow me to do it . . . in my own strength. If I respond to Him and do only those things He has instructed me to do that day, it is done by His power and anointing. I will not be "burned out" in ministry, but rather empowered by His working through me and enriched by fellowship with Him. The times that we are living in demand that we be more "real" with ourselves than ever before. Only HIS BOND SERVANTS will be able to stand and thrive in the days to come.

Thats amazing, 8 years? I've been cigarette-less for only about 9 months, but it's something! Tobacco really is the devils work! Well, God bless you, it's great to hear from someone who did it... I'm confident the Lord will help me with my troubles in the long run. God bless, again!

Now the donkeys belonging to Saul's father Kish were lost, and Kish said to his son Saul, "Take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys."
1 Samuel 9:3

The people of Israel wanted a king. God was going to use Samuel to anoint the next chosen king. Saul. The path Saul had to take in order to receive his calling is referred to as a divine appointment. I believe we receive divine appointments when the Lord calls us to become Christians as well. Saul's father had a business that involved donkeys. So, it was important that Saul and his servant find these donkeys. When they couldn't find them the servant told Saul to look in this one town for a man who speaks and whatever he speaks comes true. So, they did and Samuel not only told them where the donkeys were but, he also told Saul the next morning that he was to be the next king of Israel. God still leads us to things through divine appointment today. I know that for myself personally...the circumstances I went through that led me to become a Christian, had to have been by divine appointment. Otherwise, I never would've gotten to the feet of Jesus on my own. He will provide the necessary circumstances to accomplish His purpose in our lives. God's ways are not our ways. It always makes me think of that saying, "God works in mysterious ways." He does. A friend of mine has said this to me on several occasions. I'm waiting to see what all he has in store for me. Living a godly life, despite it's trials, is very exciting and filled with hope. May God call you for your divine appointment today!

You know...it's odd but this morning as I move through the congregational part of these forums and read the topics to some of these threads, I feel less and less like I belong to any congregation. They all hold certain beliefs and argue over things I don't feel are in line with the bible. Things we shouldn't even be arguing over to begin with. In a way, I'm glad I changed my faith icon to the generic christian one. I feel I am a christian but, I no longer feel as though I can associate with any of the congregations at all. I feel as though there is something terribly wrong in our churches today. In their teachings. I don't feel as though the churches are teaching what they ought to be teaching or something.

Red I am praying I do not get into a debate but I will ask this just the same....I know the Torah....the things Chirstian fight over with Jews who are believers is the dietary laws and they saw well if you keep some laws why not keep these too...so then I ask you...if you are stating that laws in the Torah are still applicable are you including the dietary laws as well?
I am not looking to open a hot bed here...I just want you to think about that...we all know that the ten commandments are applicable to our lives there is no question there...Jesus states He did not come to change the law ....and then tells us the two most important commandments and states all rest on these two.
So with this said.....I have explained I uphold all Jesus said and taught....my problem is with those who beat up on other Christians...who say they are Christians I am in a Pentecostal Born Again church and I find their teachings solid and true to the word..they tell everyone who enters ..all can come in and worship with us... but in order to be a Member of our church we must live in a way that adheres to the scriptures this to me is what I know in my heart to be true.
Please explain to me your statement...I appreciate it.
God Bless

Hey all..I had to go to my follow up today, everything's healing fine but the ride there and back took so much out of me, then my kitten got out and almost ran into the dogs pen a few times during the 45 minutes it took to catch him, in and out of the woods, under the front and back porch...needless to say I've had my stress share for the day and am taking a nice bubble bath this evening.
Sorry I've been gone all day...I'll catch up on everything tomorrow. Tonight I just need to rest cause it was not easy to not reach and stretch trying to catch him before he became dog food...which was way to close for me.
Love and hugs my friends..I pray you had a good day.
