I broke down and got this because I thought my son, 4, would have fun watching me play. Well, it turns out he's not so bad at the action part of it, getting a 32 hit combo in the final battle on the ship. There are a lot of skill nuances that he doesn't get but he has fun flying around and "swooping on badguys" so it's ok. Anyone else played it or intend to try it?
I really enjoy the intuitive controller setup even though I play on PC and the combat system is a lot of fun with some amazing combos and special powers.
Here's the character I'm pretty much set on as my main. He's a brawler, using bare fists or punching weapons and has fire based powers for good DPS and aggro. Flight is his method of movement, of course.
Special moves are easy to pull off so you don't have to be a hard core gamer to do well but a more demanding gamer can push harder for more accomplishments. Plus it's really cool to interact with DC greats like Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Lex, etc.
My favorite tactic so far is to use Lunging Right to cover distances in a fight. Target an enemy then hold X for a second and you will leap to him at once and clock him. I then drop an explosive AoE stun then beat them down while alternating powers.
Triggers provide shift functions to the 4 face buttons for 8 alternate assignments easily accessible to health packs and other powers.
I'd like to find a good, family friendly guild and do family hunts and such involving younger players. Right now I'm just having fun being a hero. I kinda dig my villain too, he's mean.
