We are on the mission field overseas…Our teenage daughter has suffered a traumatic experience about seven months ago. She is now living in the states with relatives. It is obvious to us that she is making decisions that will not help her grow in life. We want her to live with relatives whom we believe are more prepared to help her…and they want to help also. We want to help her in everyway we can…however, we don’t know for a fact that she will accept our help. She wants to do things on her terms…we want to do things on our terms. She is now 19 years old. As Christian parents we need to have a better understanding as to what are responsibilities are in this situation. We would like a more thorough and confidential discussion with those who want to provide us Godly counsel...and preferrably those who have experience with teenage daughters. Please email us.

Don't have a teenage daughter, but just a note before getting off on the wrong foot with yours. Remember that she is technically an adult now. Treat her as such. You don't have to give in to her if she is doing things that are against your beliefs, but do not go into the situation treating her as a child. Offer her unconditional love, but state where your boundaries are. Best wishes.

Pray for her! That's the best thing you can do. I don't know your situation but I'll pray anyway. God knows your situation and he'll know what I'm talking about when I pray. God bless you.

Things are doing much better for our daughter...For one thing I am learning some patience and unconditional love for here...She is beginning to look at the bigger picture and not just her immediate situation...Our last phone coversation with her was very upbeat and postive for us all...Thank you for your prayers and concern.
