For our use it would be a person who has not had a date in some time. It is also a person who when asked for a date is turn down without reason, such as something came along which is better then what you can offer. Read all of the post if you feel you fit in, fine come and join us.

Fellow dateless waifs:

For some reason I can't get into the chat anymore. Well, I can get IN there, but I can't see the list of chatters, and the chat box is completely blank.

I ran adaware on my computer and got rid of a bunch of spyware, but I think I might have accidentally gotten rid of whatever makes the chat work when I did that. So if anyone has any advice, let me know

Also, how do I get to the chat room from yahoo messenger? Maybe I could access it that way if I knew how to find it.

I'm not sure what to do about the actual room problem. The whole thing has been buggy for me since the beginning. You can try to access from YIM by selecting one of the people on your buddy list who is in the chat room at the time and then selecting "Join user in Chat". After that, you should be able to save the room to your favorites. If you have any problems getting into it this way, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

Hmmm...I think I need to rethink my candidacy as a dateless waif....Dateless I may be, but not sure the waif part fits...besides, I can't participate in any chat sessions...*removes name from DWC*

Well goodness....I don't have any of the waifs on my buddy list. Could someone add me to theirs so it'll prompt me to add them to mine? My yahooid is jennalayn1

It's certainly OK for you to stop by sometime. It's not like our conversations center around being dateless or waifs. We just chitty-chat about life in general.

Jen,

I think in the help there is something, but if you're computer savvy enough...uninstall the program from your computer, then re-install it. If you successfully uninstall it, when you try to enter the chat room, you get that big scary looking dialogue box asking you to download and run whatever software it is.

I thought I had you on my buddy list, so I'll try and help later tonite, if you still need it. Probably around 9pm.

When I went to chat help, there was one help topic and it had nothing to do with the problems I'm having.

I think maybe I can just go to regular yahoo chat, try to enter a room, and it'll kick off the "please install" stuff, but I'll have to wait until I get home to try that. Otherwise, maybe I'll dig around and try to find the program to uninstall it.
