Anyone played those dancing games? You know, the ones where they have the game pad on the floor and you hit the arrow when it matches up on the screen?

In my area, we have this thing called Dance Beat Arcade. They have twelve different DDR machines. Para Para, a drum game, a guitar game, a turntable game, and a keyboard game.

They even have two versions of the Disney Version of DDR.

Para Para is a very very big craze in japan. They have manga, anime, and everything else based on Para Para.

Para Para is a lot like DDR except you stand in this cage (w/ no bars) and you there are five sensors. two to the side one in front of you and two in between each side (between left and front, and right and front)

It's the same thing as Dance Dance Revolution, except instead of using your feet, you wave your arms over the sensors. The game is easy to get the hang of, once you learn the basics. It's relatively easy, but can be a bit disparaging if you haven't stretched your arms or are out of shape. I had fun, but my arms were sore for about three days afterwards. I was like, "maybe I should've stretched?"

Ah well, I have to pay the price for the highest score I guess.

^__^

At my house, I own DDR Max 2 for my PS2. I have the pad and everything. It's really fun playing it, especially since I break out such a good sweat doing so.

Do you play any dance games? Seen any? Anything like that? Feel free to share opinions. Good or bad, just don't break the rules. K?

I was intoxicated once, and decided to strut my stuff on the machine, I failed miserably, but I looked good doing it. The games are very addictive and have some great music, I have never seen a Japanese trend take to the mainstream quite so quickly, and with as much impact as these machines have. They are fun, and allow gamers to get some much needed excercise.

In short, they are really cool!

DDR Rocks!!

I have DDR Ultramix for my X-box. My best friend can do songs on Heavy mode. (I'm still stuck on Light.. )

It's hard for me to get the movements right. I always have a habit of staying in one spot while I'm dancing on the pads.

I want X-box live so I can challenge others online. Course my parents said no to that, but maybe I can find a way around it sometime.

Favorite songs on DDR UltraMix.. "Ready, Steady, Go!" I love that song, but it is one of those songs that switches speeds. It's real hard but it has a good beat. That and "Castles in the Sky." It doesn't switch speeds though, but it has a great beat.

DDR is a blast. Have the original, konamix, and disney for the PS and have max1 and 2 for ps2. I am now hitting heavy songs. Have AA or A on all light songs and most standard. Favorite songs include Drop the Bomb, End of the Century, Afronova, Trip Machine, Dream a Dream, If You Were Here with Me, ok I like almost all of them except the very slow. Can't wait til this fall for the new release. Wish I had an Xbox too to play online and get new songs. oh well. I do have the Red Octane pad, sweet, no errors due to the pad.

I'm getting a PS2 this Christmas pretty much just for DDR:EXTREME, FFX, and Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. Who knows, I might get some platformers...

Anyway, considering I'll be playing this upstairs, in a carpetted room, right above where my parents sleep, I thought it best to get a soft pad. I'm going with the Red Octane which cost about $100, but from what I've heard, they're pretty much the best. You can feel the arrows, they're thick, durable, no slip, etc.

In short, I simply can't wait. DDR is addictive, and fun.

I've never actually played DDR, but I do enjoy watching the DDR Projects (it'd be sweet if I could get the DVDs, but I'm stuck with the XviD copies and the VCDs I made from those ). My favorite songs would have to be Boom Boom Dollar, Drop The Bomb, Forever Young, Upside Down, and a few others (of course, when I hear them I often remember the part in the video where those songs play, but meh). I can't wait to get ahold of the fourth Project though!

hehehehe I've never played DDR before... Yeah ok not really. I have Max, Max 2, and Extreme for the PS2 and play at the arcades whenever I can. I can A most 9 footers now, been playin' since last Nov. I play at my home every day for around 2 hours, by the time I'm done I'm sweatin' pretty bad and need a shower lol. My favorites to do are Rythm and Police, Tsugaru, You're not here, Trip Machine Climax, and Break Down! on heavy of course. My friends think I'm insane
