  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello.

According to my thread title I am "Curious" about Messianic Judaism, but it is more than that. I must learn more about this.

Long story, short: I am Jewish by birth but was raised Catholic. In my 30's I began attending a Synagogue while I lived in Texas. I adored it in many ways BUT, it also left me feeling empty spiritually.

I see myself as a Jew, ethnically. But, I am a Christian.

I wish to embrace my Jewish heritage but celebrate my spirit as a Christian.

Thank you,
-Matthew-

It sounds like you want to learn more about the Hebrew roots of the faith without the rabbinic additions. Bradford Scott is a good teacher from the articles and videos I've seen. There is a list of many of his teachings here that you can go through if you want to.

I think everyone is out to lunch right now. Although I am not Hebrew, I may be able to answer some of your questions.

I've been to synagogues that were sorta "blah" and others that are really great. I'd suggest you visit more than one.

Good suggestion.

all places of worship can vary....

Shalom Matthew.

Do you live near a Messianic Judaism synagogue?

I am also Jewish. Messianic. If I can answer any questions, let me know.

Hi Matthew, great to have you!

Wishing to embrace your Jewish heritage while following the Messiah puts you in the company of the Messiah's immediate disciples and the earliest community of believers, particularly the community in Jerusalem headed by James (Jacob/Ya'akov), the brother of the Messiah.

Nice place to be, huh?
