So how do you like the new CD? My favorites are "Closer" and "Cry no more" I've actually been to a couple of their concerts and met a few of them. They have connections with a youth group I'm affiliated with.
Personnaly , their new cd is weak ,, The beats are awful ... When I flow , is so disgusting , I mean , it looks like a Club beat , And the song Start Something is weird , I mean , if you want to talk about God , at least put the lyrics first , not the music . my favorite song is Holy Culture and L.L.R.P , especially for the lyrics. Cry no more is good also. But I think that they wanted to make this album to "secular" (it's my opinion) Because when you hear Human Emergency and Holy Culture , it is totally different. In human Emergency , you hear the lyrics clearly but in Holy Culture , in certain song , you focuss more on the beats than the words because you can't hear the words . Anyway it's just my opinion

Human Emergency was their best album.

Shock is one of my best song , Honor And Glory is very good also What is your best song ?

I am that I am and Creature Double feature and Love Life are good also. House of representative is good also.

I completely agree. I like their early style the best. Top notch stuff. And as a thirtysomething, I find the style to be comparable to late '80's-early '90's style of rap and hip hop, after the two dimentional, mono-synth, simple rap style and before the modern style that is un-imaginative, cliche and again two dimentional. Rap evolved in the late '80's and then de-evolved in the '90's. Their new album is definately a few steps down from what they use to be.

I gotta disagree , only as a matter of taste, I liked "Holy Culture" more than "Human Emergency" or "House of Representatives". Maybe its cause I love the words in "Closer to You" , and I love the whole make up of the song. But I do have to agree with you on the beats thing. Some of the beats are kinda weak , but I still love "Rise Up".

The main difference between Human Emergency and Holy Culture , is the beat ... They have completely change their style (they were doing good non to high beat , and now the song that you hear like "When I flow" , I think that this song could be a Club song ... I saw the video of When I Flow ... And the thing that they do at the end of the clip , is like a Show. And it shouldn't be like that . It shouldn't be that up type kind of music (personnaly). They were different from secular music beats , they haven't lost their good lyrics but when you have a beat that his more focuss then the lyrics , then there is a problem

I would prefer if the lyrics would come first so that non-christian would understand right away what they are trying to say and that they won't be focuss on the beat first , but on the lyrics instead ... At first I was more focuss on the beat because I couldn't heard the word clearly , so if me (christian who know that they are a christian rap band) can't entirely understand their word right away , I don,t think that non-christian will understand more.

Yes they are good songs in their new album , but they are others who are just awful , and really uncommon from their previous style.

I would love if they could go back and follow the I use to date A Girl Named World , Honor And Glory , Who's Da man and Love life style of music. But we will see for their next album , but if they keep this up , I won't really listen to them anymore.

Hold It Down , The Light , C to the R , Know Me (the video of the song is so well done) , What Do You See ? , Love Life , Creature Double feature, Cypha 911 (one of my best song) , All Day , Live Agua , Remember.

On 20 songs of the Human Emergency , 11 of them are very good. But On Holy Culture , I just have 4-5 ,,, Free , Holy Culture , Closer to you , L.L.R.P and Cry no more , and that's all. But I can understand your point of view , I know other people who like more their new one then their oldest. But for me personnaly , i'm on the other side

Yeah , I see what you are saying but how can you have a secular beat ? I think that if someone who is not saved listens to the songs and they like the song , they will listne to it enough to learn the words, thus learning the meaning. But if they dont like the style enough to even listen to the song , then how are they going to get the message at all ? But I see what you are saying.

When I listen to the song Shock for example , I feel more the words then the song When I flow ,,, Because I hear the words more clearly and my head is not jammed with a big beat so that I would have difficulty to understand everything they say . I don't want to remember the beat after I hear the song , I want to remember all the things they say , without having that beat who is coming back to my head

when I am talking about secular beat (I don,t know if secular was the right term , maybe it is why you didn't well understand that point), I'm talking about beats that are made these day , like big beat who silence the lyrics and who the music "seem" (it maybe not be the case of all) more important than their own lyrics.

When the music or beat is much lower a, nd the lyrics are more emphasized , it is when I feel the word (same thing as for mass choir) .

Well the song I heard on the radio wasn't even on the cd so I was disappointed but I"ve enjoyed the cd anyhow.
I really really like Cry No More , When I Flow is sweeping, the piano in Free makes me want to cry almost. I also like In Not Of, Live It, L.L.R.P. and the hook in It's goin Down grabs me too. I like the Eastern feel that they have. Is this new for them or part of their style?
