  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

ok, that doesn't seem to do it either....every program I have found wants me to insert a 3 1/2" floppy into the drive to copy the files from it....what I'm looking for is something where I can choose the files out of a folder on my hard drive because the files I want to put onto the bootable part of the cd won't fit on a floppy disk.....

WinISO will create Bin files from ISO's or turn BIN files into ISO's it will also extract ISO and BIN files like zip files to your disk.

You can download it for free.
Ok Thanks....I figured out how to do what I want, but I'm still limited to 2.88mb of space, but that still gives me some leftover.....I used Winimage, a predesiged 2.88mb image, nero, and Roxio ECDC to work on it......I will check out WinISO and see it it will work better, but for now I have what I wanted

1. I open the 2.88mb file in winimage, I can inject or extract or delete files....I injected all the files I wanted and then removed some that I didn't need because they were the wrong OS (the 2.88 was for windows 95 boot and I was going with a windows ME boot)....anyways that worked....

2. then I burned an ISO boot image of a bootable cd in Nero using the 2.88mb image file...(the version of nero that I have doesn't recognize my cd burner drives because it's one of those versions that only works with the drive it came with and I can't figure out what burner that was, lol, I have so many)...

3. Then I opened Roxio ECDC and burned the ISO to CD and I was able to reboot and boot from the CD....

(There were a few extra details in there so here is the step by step instructions)....

In in dear mcdonalds name are you making?
I have been working on alot of computers recently without floppy drives and I need a CD to do all the things that the floppy discs used to do (utilities, ghost, format, fdisk, etc...)......not to mention I was tired of carrying all the floppys around so now that I have gotten it all onto a bootable cd it makes things alot easier for me.....I just finished editing the windows me boot menu and have customized it so I can choose differnt startup options so that either everything loads or only certain drivers load (USB 2.0 external drive drivers for my portable drives, cd-rom drivers, zip drivers, mouse, etc....).....it just makes things a whole lot easier for me and saves me a ton of time, I have tested the cd on quite a few systems today and it has worked on everyone of them exactly the way I need it to....my next step is to load the USB 1.1 drivers so that I can load my external drives on the older systems......and then I'm going to load other images with other OS boot disks onto the CD so that I can put my large collection of floppys away unless I need them, lol...... you are probably lost right now, but in my mind I knwo what I'm trying to do, lol.....

eww, YOU SAID WINDOWS ME, how distrubing!
Alas, but my USB 2.0 dos drivers for my external drive won't run on 95/98 because it says it's the wrong version of dos.....that's why I'm working on putting multiple OS images onto the same cd, that way I can choose what OS on the CD Boots.....I'm still working out bugs on that, not sure what I'm doing exactly, but I'm learning....(I miss the xcopy command the most from MSDOS/95/98 and it won't run under ME)......by the time I'm done I'll have MS DOS 6.22, win 95b, 98, 98se, ME, 2k, XP home, XP pro boot disks incorporated onto the CD and I'll be able to choose which one loads.....I'm having way to much fun doing this
