Yeah I think watching programmes about God is better than watching eastenders and those reality shows.
From what I've heard and read about the God channel I'm not shelling out any cash to get it pipped into my home.

It is indisputable that the quality of program making by the BBC far outstrips that which can be found on independant commercial channels. Just check out the thread on Best British Comedies, how many of them were made by the BBC? I share your sentiments on reality TV shows however.

McCracAttack- yes the licence fee is enforced. People regularly go to prison here due to unpaid fines from watching TV without a licence and gain a criminal record.

If you have a TV that is plugged into a power socket then you are liable to pay the fee (about £110 per year). You must pay the licence fee even if you don't watch any BBC channels. You may listen to the BBC radio programms and use the BBC inernet services free of charge. The licence fee for a blind person used to be about £1 less than a full licence for a sighted person, lol. Any person visiting a house and watching an unlicenced TV is liable to be procecuted. The TV laws here are draconinan but,

The BBC offers the best value around and by far the best quality independant programming (I belive the best in the world on quality). It's absoulutely blissfull to have no adverts. I find Sky to be unwatchable due to the huge amount of adverts. And look at the cost of Sky £600 /year for the full package + pay per view on some films and sports events, and you have to watch adds on top of that. Are people mad?

Pay for view in the Uk is the most expensive in the world. Stop complaining about the high cost of the BBC and cancel your SKY subscription.
